Right now I am a Commando and I think I want to go up the Meditation branch of TKA. Is this going to be extremely hard without getting any of the other skills? How should I accomplish this? First of all, what is the best way to get from Unarmed IV to Novice TKA? Sorry for all the questions, but it took me forever to get to Unarmed xp...and now I have to go do it all over again to get to Novice...

God i hope they move power boost to master box, more and more people will want to be master meditation now that its fixed. with the heal wounds and a nice little +500 buff who wouldn't right? This should be somthing a Master TK has available to them, not a master comando looking to dable.

just my 10 cents worth.

BTW to answer your question, its going to be hard, just gotta grind it out.

Well it'll only give you a little 500 boost if you have 1000 in your mind pool, otherwise it will be a lower boost.

the way i read it is that it is a 500 boost to action and health, at a 1/2 cost to your mind. so if your minds 100 it cost you 50 mind, if your minds 1000, it costs you 500 mind, the duration of the boost is (your meditation skill)/100*5 so a master TK would have it for around 8 minutes, and a master meditation would be around 6 minutes or 5 forget what master is.

class defineing things that are more then usefull needs to be master type of skills, sure let them a lesser version, but a master should have somthing better. least i think so.

Changes to Power Boost:

Duration: 5 min + (meditation skill mod/100 * 5min) give or take 5%

Ramp up/down time: 60sec

Boost Value: 1/2 current max mind pool value

Effects:

  • Your MIND pool will suffer an instantaneous decrease in size (temporary max change, not a wound) equivalent to the boost value for 60s.
  • HEALTH and ACTION will ramp up over 60s to the boosted value as MIND returns to its pre-command execution value.

note: execution from a meditative state is still required

It's not a 500 point boost regardless of mind.PB will boost your H&A stats by 1/2 the value of your current max mind pool. If you have 100 mind, it will cost you 50 mind, but it'll also only give you 50 points.

Let's not forget that this game is skills based instead of class based, we don't want to put every good skill in the game in the master box of it's class. Furthermore, a 500 point buff to H & A is nothing you can't easily get out of food and drink. It's nice, but far from overpowering.

Go ahead, move Power Boost to Master,I wouldn't use it anyway. All I am really concerned with is healing disease, poison, and not so much wounds, but it would be nice. Plus, what's wrong with dabbling? I think they should promote dabbling as I would provide more varied character types. Anyway can someone give me some tips instead of arguing over PB? Thanks.

I'm personally going to be doing the same thing, but getting power technequies 2 first for the skill mods which will hopefully help me get up the meditation 4 quicker. that might be an idea even if you dump the skills later on. But for getting novice quicker hell if I know I'm too addictaed to commando to figure out a good way.

power tech 1st...if i can impart any wisdom to you all is speed beats most things...i lvl'd speed first as a doctor and was able to heal others faster than the others, plus i used adv stuff for wound packs, but anyway...i have increased my lvling ability so fast with just the 1st two lvls of power tech...I now average 35k exp per 10 minutes. Now this may not work for everyone but it does for me...speed...knock down is nice but works better in pvp...now power and speed...1k hit..1k hit..1k hit..1k hit..2760 unarmed xp 276 combat

NEXT

Nothing better than 4 red mobs dropping one by one around you. Now granted that I am a doctor and can raise my stats virtually at will for 2-3 hours at a time, and I have a good supply of mind enhancing foods and drugs...so combinations of all the different proffessions will help you. Find the chef, doc, smuggler and make friends with them. Get in good with them and buy there stuff and recomend them to all you meet. The more they get business and have people say yeah baj'e sent me the better your prices will get.

And lastly this is the most important part of being a TK...have fun with it and do what ever you like the way you like and how you like. Take my advice or don't but either way just have fun with it. It is a game after all.

bahaha just let dabblers try getting meditation line. IF they manage to get to tier 4 meditation, kudos to them, they probably wasted a ton of time just mastering a line in the time that it takes to master other entire professions

I honestly dont see why it would be that bad for people to dabble. TKAs have the only proffession that its HARD to dabble in. Plus the incentive for masters is that +25 to meditation. The way some people talk you would think that all the special moves should be in the master box :/

BuzzardBoy :

My tip to you in getting Novice TKA is this. Get a good Vibro Blade. I know you are not Certified to use it at UA4, but it does not matter, trust me(unless they changed something recently that i dont know about). You see, our damage and speed STACKS with the stats on the Vibros, and so even though you are not Certified and get the "you ar not certified for this weapon, damage will be significally reduced..." Get a pair that are as fast as possible and preferrably with decent damage, i know mine were pretty shabby at the time and they still more than doubled my damage output. Like someone above said, speed is king. And the funny thing is even though it says your damage will be reduced, it actually increases, not by much though, but it does increase.

So you will be hitting harder and if you get a good speed sliced pair, many times faster. I did this, and used Berserk in conjunction with it. Not much at that level can stand up to that.

Now im sure there are other ways but this is what i did and it sped up my increase from UA2 to Novice TKA alot.

Best of luck to you, hope it helps.

leveling med without power is going to be a long road. Most classes get their best weapon as soon as (or before) they hit their elite novice box. A TKA's weapon is not complete until TKA master You just don't do great damage at TKN. Grinding through what, 1,225,000 unarmed xp without getting power tech is going to make your fingers go numb.

I'm not sure how far to advise you to go up the power tree before working on med, but if I were to guess, I'd recommend getting the first 2 power boxes before starting on med.
