i'm only working up novice teras kasi (oh, meditation, how i want thee...) at the moment, but this is my observation so far...

i have grouped in the past few days with a group on lok and a group on endor, and with a group of friends on yavin (hitting the advanced planets). soloing, i cannot do on any of these planets, and using my cowardly gurrek to tank doesnt work too well for me since while i have novice medic, buying stims are a pain (that master tailor profession doesnt bring in as much cash as you thought...). so i tried groups.

on lok, we ran around for about an hour. of course everyone but two people are ranged, and they are never considerate of melee people. they dont tank, nor do they wait for us to get close to even get a hit in. so i would get less than 100 xp usually. so after that, i quit.

then on endor, we were doing missions. but again, no one would tank or let me get close enough. bad enough, i had to deal with two people with flamethrowers. anyone who's grouped with a commando knows you can't see your own hands in that flame ball. so of course i get shafted on xp again. oh, and they love to go after the red con aggro mobs, which they dont pull, so if i want a hit, i gotta go stand in the middle of 5 red con aggro in my ubese armor... but usually, the commando, being a jerk she was, would run around in circles, bring the aggro upon herself and then yell at me like it was my fault (i of course, having only exploration 2, am a bit of a slow runner up them hills ^^)

on yavin, a friend used his gurrek nicely and tanked for me, while while my two lower end pistol and carbine friends fired as well. i ended up getting 700 or more xp per kill. and so i'm crawling up the line a bit better.

so what do you think? my friends as a group are not strong enough to handle lok or endor together, but i can't solo there either. are groups really worth it, or should i solo lower level things to get my xp till i am high enough? to me, groups just didn't seem worth it on th emore advanced planets

dont worry about it man, people love to say that all those hybrid professions in there Godlyness are justified because they cost more to get it.

even holo said that.

here is the facts though. TK is the hardest profession to master, if you master, pat yourself on the back, or post here and the other TK masters will congradulate ya, because no one else will care, and wont ever understand.

mastering TK is a big deal, its just hard. i wish you luck.

I go to Dathomir often with my friends. I'm working my way up to novice TKA at the moment. What I do is attack nitches with my friends and get about 300xp per nitch... it's ok, xp, but I ask if I can attack the last 1/3rd or 1/4th of the nest. If any other melee is with me, we will attack it together. Sure, it takes longer, but we get decent xp from the nests while everyone else gets decent xp from the creatures.

Just make sure you tell everyone in your group that you wish to finish the nest yourself. Go with friends instead of a random group. Your friends are more likely to be patient with you.

At Novice TKA I was in Yavin, the southern most camp, soloing Mamians. You can attack one and the others will just watch! lol. Plus there is a TKA trainer at that outpost. They drop somewhat decent wooly hides.

If you can not buy good Stim B packs, I would suggest finding a healer friend and grouping with just them. Its was the best experienceI ever got.

I followed up with Huurtons on Dantoine, and now I can solo the 25k Pubam camps in Endor.

IMO,

I'd say get some more "understandable" people to group with. Or if you have to solo, go to dantooine, do some hurrton stalker missions. I avg 3-4k per hurrton stalker. And yea pat yourself on the back when you get master. I'm almost there....ahh the holy grail is in my sights... Best of luck to ya. BTW if you're on wanderhome look me up, I'm always looking for other tk's out there to tank with.

I do both. I m 1221 right now and i like doing both group and solo. When grouped, definately go with friends. They let you pull and then attack the mob you are currently hitting. It seem when this happens, i get at LEAST 1/2 the xp from the entire kill. I usually feel guilty for soaking up the xp. Alot of times i will keed the mob debuffed with intimidate alone(intimidate is the best imo) and hit with normal attacks to share the xp.

When soloing, i just have some good stim Bs ready. The last 2 nights i have been hunting greater baz. I just pull one with taunt (when you taunt and there is 2 mobs, the one you dont taunt will come running) and immediately lunge/intimidate and spam intimidate till it sticks. Then heal, run through the other debuffs, heal again and normal hit (intimidating when it runs out). and unarmed hit 2 for the killing blow. I get bout 4200 xp per kill.

Hope this helps. This tactic usually works on most mobs.

i am on eclipse right now, so if there are any TKA's who would like to group one day, i'm all for it.

oh, and i tried hurton stalkers, a bit too tough for me. it got incapped twice and had to wait forever because i was using my pet as a tank, and i had to heal him up (takes forever, grr) and then heal myself... i only ended up getting about 1.5k for one stalker though, and at that amount of work and dying, i figured i should wait till i get novice to try those guys, hehe.

oh, the name's Lynala on eclipse (also master tailor, so... *wink* help me out and you'll get good discounts, hehe ^^ )

Hello Fellow TKA !!

i started a TKA together with a friend.

we as TKA only grind on dathomir killing baz nitch (start from novice 2400exp --solo--) after a few skill-gains you will notice its to easy to solo those so you move upto the Mutant baz nitch(3700exp--solo--) and after that you will kill the biggest and hardest of them all the gaint baz nitch(4900exp --solo--)

train the middle 2bars first(and ofcourse the combat exp bar)

when you have the middle bars full the meditate bar will be up very soon because you will have alot of unarmed toughness-speed-dmg.

and please please use intimidate! (brawler) i have intimidate 2 (master brawler) its helps ALOT i say!!
