Thread: Optimizing your HAM?

I am working my way up the path (though still young) of the Teras Kasi Master, I am a Trandoshan. My HAM right now is ...

Health: 1150 Strength: 750 Constitution: 750
Action: 825 Quickness: 400 Stamina: 400
Mind: 575 Focus: 300 Willpower: 400

That tiny blue bar scares me, and if I do any special moves I am getting close to death in my Action pool. Is it worth it to just balance out all three? I plan on going Master CH as well as Master TK, should I sacrifice some Health to bring up the Action or Mind pool?

What are TKs doing in general with their HAM, are you adjusting it on an as needed basis, or has anyone discovered that one area doesn't have to be as strong as another? Or is everyone just staying with what Sony gave them and being happy?

There are a few other posts floating around on this, but basically I'd put your str and con to racial minimums, and migrate a bit of your health to your mind pool. Get novice medic and advanced stim Bs and you can heal your health and action for a relatively small mind hit.

Especially considering the pending changes to power boost, it'll be quite beneficial to have a maxed out mind pool.

For me the best stat setup i've found was this Im a trandoshan btw

860 Health 600 str 700 const (last 2 are minimums)

860 Action 450 quick 400 stam (last 2 are maximums)

725 Mind 425 Focus 525 Willpower

Im not 100% sure on the numbers of my mindsub statsbut they should be very close to this, and I've had really good success, i just keep a food buff or two with me and im good to go. H&A seem low, but get novice medic by some good stim B's with medicine use experminted down.

You need keep your mind pool as high as reasonable, if you have novice medic (which you virtually need as tka), the health and action are healable. Mind pool is not healable at all, so this is a weak point for everybody.

As special moves use all 3 ham pools and even more if you use VK's, you will get incapped from mind pool depleting more than any other ham pool. Plus creatures will randomly hit your mind pool as well.

The higher you can keep the mind pool without crippling yourself on health and action, will allow you to survive longer. Never really seen a big difference in secondary stat settings, so may be worth dropping these lower to allow more points for the primary pools, only exception is try and keep willpower quite high so you can at least get a fairly good mind regen rate.

Even though you are trand, I think the rules are the same for any species, but you need to find a setting that works for you and how you play.

Just to clarify Stim B are med use 5 already (same as novice medic) you do not need to get the use experimented down. If you use Stim C and have pharm III then you need to get the Stim C med use experimented down to 30 from 32.

Good point. I'd further suggest that if you're going to spend extra skill points in the medic tree, that you spend them on FirstAid to get the healing bonus, and use advanced stim Bs instead of working up to Stim Cs.
