Thread: Best non ROTW weapon for TKM?

LOL, no I'm not using VK's now. I came back last week, took at look at all my old VK's under the new system, and trashed them all. Good thing I saved all those Nym motors I looted before Iquit last timeeh?
I had been going totally unarmed for a while, then purchased a blaster fist to mess around with. The main thing I noticed is that I use loads less action pool with the blaster fist, but the damage is kind of weak. I just want to find something that would do decent damage while reducing action costs, without having to buy the last expansion to get it.
The main thing I've noticed since I came back is that this new combat system just plain blows chunks. I'd much rather have the old system back, or at least something closer to it than what we have now.
Welcome back Iawo. Still MOBbing or did you leave while I was gone (January through the CU patch)? Just wondering.
I've been back since the week after the CU patch came in and I actually like the new system better. It is a lot more tactical than it was before, although I will admit it took awhile for me to get used to the timers and no real combat queue.
The thing I like best about the new system is what seems to be a wider variety of template options. Since you can use specials with any melee/ranged weapon now, it really opens up the viable combinations.
To your original question, I've found that unless you have the KK's, it isn't worth any other weapon. If you have ROTW and we can synch up the times, I'd be happy to help you with the last mission on that quest. The rest of it is pretty easy unarmed, but that big cat is pretty tough by yourself unless you already have the KK's.

I'm currently not in any guild. I leftMOB before I quit, but I still live in Mos Elsewhere.
As far as fighting things... I absolutely must stay Smuggler in case we ever get smuggling misisons. (/laugh) I liked being TKM / Smuggler before, and it's nice to run around as a smuggler without armor. I'm not too keen on the whole run around in circles with a blaster thing, and my defenses and accuracy with a pistol is horrible. TKM innate armor is pretty nice, but doing damage is where I find the most trouble.
I can easily outlastmost things I decide to fight, but it takes forever to kill things above level 54 or so. Also SAC costs with bare fists only seem to be extremely high, so I was looking for a weapon that A) Does damage close to bare fists and B) Lower SAC costs combared to bare fists.I also don't have the ROTW expansion,so I waslooking for something I could use for now. As of right now though, about the only thing I'm doing when I fight a NPC is keep CoB on, apply dizzy and armor break when they go away, and do an occasional knockdown. Other than that it's auto attack on Melee hit.
Normally this isn't aproblem, but I've found quite often that some random Jedi or rifleman punk will come by after I've already done 1/4 of the damage, and manage to take the kill away from me. That's just not cool at all. I don't really have a problem with ranged classes doing more damage than a TKM, but christ, at least let us do enough damage to get the kill after we've done 1/4 of the damage already. They need to bring all the classes a little closer in damage, this would also help with the holding aggro problem I've heard of.
