I have a long history of dropping, grinding, and regrinding professions. I have gotten to 4444 of a profession and dropped it before mastering. I do not know why but I just get tired of a profession, try something else and get tired of it. I was really getting worried that I was going to fall back into this loop again as my 2 week respec period ends this Saturday and I still couldn't decide on a template.

I absolutely love hunting Jedi, but since they all hide on Kashyyyk now, I found the next best thing. Be a Jedi, sorta. My new template (TKM/sword 0031/master doc) may not look extremely special or unique but never has a template gotten me so worked up before. After only half an hour playing with it, I was having fun like I haven't had in SWG in a long time. Wearing nothing but a t-shirt, slacks, and my katarn knuckles I was tanking 6 level 80s from Kashyyyk (in my experience, alot tougher than other planets.. perhaps high resists?) like it was a walk in the park! And yes, I was solo.I rarely had to use my doctor heals and when I did, I was instantly restored. With the Katarn knuckles, and specials from swordsman... I am consistantly doing 400-500 hits and with armor break 700 hits. Not a big damage dealer but not as slow as I expected it to be. About the same damage most Jedi do, and I don't come close to running out of action.

With 260 melee def, 210 ranged def(760 and 710 when running COB) and my healing abilities, some people believe I am about the same dang thing as a master defender/healer. (I'm not saying I am better or my numbers are exactly the same as Mdef, so don't try to prove me wrong because I admittedly, don't know alot about jedi statistics) Probably about the closest you will get without doing FS quests, and it took me abouta minute toclick the boxes in respec as compared to 9 months of Jedi grinding. =)

Don't get me wrong, this is not an arogant post but more of an informative one. If you are having trouble finding a final respec, consider this template or maybe personalize it. I am very satisfied so far with this template. It gives power to TKM (which is just the coolest for roleplay purposes).

I'll continue to play this template out, and keep you updated on any new descoveries.

Are you useing foods/drinks to get your defense that high? Because with your template, you only have 175 defense. Add 25 from the BE clothes, and that still is 60 less than you said you have. I'd love to know how your getting that, cause it would help me a ton when tanking.

No foods or drinks, no BE clothes or anything. Put my template in a skill calc and it comes out with 175 melee defense, yet I have 185. Not sure if its a Trandoshan bonus or what, but I have no items adding to my defenses. If you drop critical strike from swords, and then grab 0040 you'll get another +10 melee defense (So I would have 195, 270 total) but you'll lose the +10 accuracy and a decent special.

/cheers!

I'm in the same boat; spent uncountable hours testing various templates and come /respec I couldn't decide even after trying many many more. Finally picked upa similar template to youand I couldn't be happier. Feels like pre-CU being able to stand their tanking mobs all day long, which is when I have most fun; I couldn't care less about the damage, just the thrill of being surrounded by enemies and doing the occasional /point /lol /roar at them as they try their hardest to make a dent

BTW, track down a Gorax on endor and give it a solo run; itmade my day asI stood their fighting him solo for well over 5 minutes before my mind finally got the best of me and I decided to bail. Got over half his life down though before doing so

I know, it is great to be in tough areas just tanking away solo when a group of 8 comes by and is struggling! I'll give the Gorax a shot too. I really love this template.
