Thread: pistols/tka smuggler/tka template?
Yuopu dont do much damage alone with neaithr of the professions but it is nice to not use armor. Need to switch to UA and apply CoB wich can be a little "stressy" sometimes. In PvE and PvP i do fairly well, got a nice TKA/Pistolero outfit with mods, a ADK' in one of my bests guns, with pup its a little over 1k mx dam. Speed tapes almost maxes me out, but your action is going fast if you have a fast gun and Pistolero SEA's. So be carefull. Pistoleros combined with smuggler 0040 gives you concussion shot to, wich means you have two "Root" attacks. Concussionshot have a very good timer compared to Stoppingshot.
You get FD wich can be handy, and ofcource some mods to your UA skills. Altso very handy. No uber damage template but work well in a group, very well! Some neat stateshots in pistolers to "warningshot" wich gives your enemy -80 to defence and some other delay shots. Armorbreak and CoB from TKA with the Innate armor makes you very tough!
Got no problems at all soloing level 80 mobs, but it takes a little more time than say a full melee temp with swords in it!
Get a good pistol! Recomend FWG-5 cuz of it high max damage and beeing kinetic wich penetrates PSG's.

I wouldnt say im strong against a bounty hunter, but i am definatly a savage...

IM doing the NO armor thingy in pvp with my pistol equipped and im doing just fine. A pain to switch back and forth to get my CoB going tho

Does COB work when a pistol is equipped? My understanding of COB was that it would only apply if a melee weapon was in hand...
TKM Master Smuggler, Pistol 4-0-0-3, Novice Commando here, Yes CoB does need to be used without a gun in your hand BUT, if you drop your gun, quickly apply CoB then grab your gun and start shooting again, you're golden for a nice 40 sec, combined with panic shot and low blow, ranged mobs very rarely touch me.
Melee mobs never touch me at all
If you are going this wayy though, I would recommend picking up stopping shot in pistols, as the devs have stated that concussion shot will be turned from the root it currently is into a mezz which breaks on damage.
And yeah, nothin says class like blastin away at your enemies without armor :>
Yeah i think may keep stopping shot in there even though i loathe it. What i really wanna hear is how well you guys with only part pistoleerare doing with ranged (i realize this is the tka forum but some of you guys have similar temps to what i'm looking at). I think i may be able to do fine since my suit is +25 pistol speed, +25 pistol acc , +25 pistol defense. I just need the general mods i think i may be able to do ok.
p.s.: only thjing is accuracy seems to suck.
