Hello to all you TKAs out there! First I will introduce myself and give a little background info.
I am Iqop Esen on the Bria server, Guilded and resides on Tatooine in Untied Towers. CL69
I have always been a ranged player. Previously Master Rifleman, Creature Handler 2323, Medic. And dabbled around soem other professions but never any melee.
Last night with the last respec, I respeced my CH, some of my scout and all of my medic to TKA 3224 and so far I absolutely love it but I have a few questions.
I kept Master Rifleman so now I am melee and ranged with scout 4000 for terrain neg.
Is there an area attack with TKA? If you don't know my reasoning behind this question, when grouped I don't want to doing an area attack and pulling all the mobs in the area to my group and harming the group.
What about armor with the TKA? I can still wear all my recon armor that I had for rifleman but will it hurt my defenses that I get with TKA? I have seen some threads regarding iniate (hope that is spell correctly) for TKA but where do I get it, what kind of damage is resisted with it, what does it look like, and could I wear it all the time even when I decide to pull out my rifle and take down targets with it?
What is the deal with Power Boost and CoB?
Finally this is my last question for now, I got a blaster knuckler from my armorsmith guildie, is this the best weapon I can use for unarmed combat.
I hope ya'll will welcome me into your ranks as a TKA, soon to be TKM.
Cya around soon and good hunting to ya.

Welcome to TK

Just a quick comment - I wouldn't suggest Melee/Ranged - it's far more difficult and less specialised than Melee/Melee or Ranged/Ranged.

TK in the CU was classified as having a "1 out of 5" in Crowd Control. They stay true to this - TK has no Area Attack.
What about armor with the TKA?
TK has it's own Innate Armour (aka TIA), which, when Mastered, is equal to 6000 Battle Armour across all resists.
I can still wear all my recon armor that I had for rifleman but will it hurt my defenses that I get with TKA?
It will negate your Teras Kasi Innate Armour, however there is a good side to this:
Recon is more energy based, TIA (Battle) is more rounded. Therefore, when fighting ranged or Jedi, use your Recon for extra Energy resists. Use TIA for flexibility and some extra Kinetic.
I have seen some threads regarding innate (hope that is spell correctly) for TKA but where do I get it, what kind of damage is resisted with it, what does it look like, and could I wear it all the time even when I decide to pull out my rifle and take down targets with it?
Some of the questions are answered in my previous statements; TIA works with any weapon.
What is the deal with Power Boost and CoB?
Powerboost gives +500 to your Health, CoB gives +250 Defence.
Finally this is my last question for now, I got a blaster knuckler from my armorsmith guildie, is this the best weapon I can use for unarmed combat.
The best weapons are probably your bare fists or the Katarn Knuckler (For Master).
I hope ya'll will welcome me into your ranks as a TKA, soon to be TKM.
Good luck with TKM

Thank you for the quick response.
I hate to give up my Rifleman since I have so much invested in it but thanks for the heads up. In saying that what would you suggest to go along with TKM as an offensive prof since my understanding is that TKA is poor in offense but rich in defense.
Finally, Is innate (btw ty for clearing me up on the spelling of that :smileyhappy
armor actuall armor or is it like a bonus given with TKA in regular clothing.
If it is actually armor, can my guildie armorsmith make it and what should I tell him for the order?

Its not physical armor or clothes, when not wearing any other armor you have the innate armor. Think of it as invisible armor or natural armor.

If you insist on keeping Rifleman, it's not a bad choice. It's more slanted to power, which works well with TK's defensive ability.
The "invisible armour" is a good way to look at it.
"Innate" is derived from the Latin words "natus/nauta/natum" - "Born" and "in" - "in". Literally "Born In", or "In from Birth". Innate Armour would therefore literally mean "Armour in from Birth" - It's irremovable armour.
