Thread: pikeman seeks second prof in TKA

Got a question that will determin weather i use TKA or swordsman for my second profession. Does TK inate armor stack onto my battle armor I get with pikeman or does it only work when im not wearing armor at all....OR can i not wear armor at all being a TK?

TK Armor will not stack with your battle armor. It is at a constant 6000 armor rating. As soon as you equip a piece of battle armor, that armor drops to zero, and the armor rating of the battle armor replaces it.
I myself will never use armor, because I'd rather look stylish, not to mention make use of BE'd clothes i couldn't with armor, and not have to worry about having to replace my armor every week due to Decay.

excellent points. only problem is im a wookie not to many styling choices in wookie clothes, and from what i have seen id have to special order BE clothes cause no one makes wookie BE stuff. If you can even make them which im sure you can just no one does.

another thing is i like advanced armor break and critical strike from swordsmen

I'm currently TKM/Pikes 3123/Medic4040, don't have much in the BE clothing stakes and can easily solo most missions on Dantooine 2 levels above my CL64. You also get improved CoB from TKA which I don't think you get from pikes. I can get about 200k XP/hour without interruptions and i'm improving!

As a pikeman, you need to define your playstyle...are you mostly a solo hunter out wandering by yourself? Take TKA 0100 for Improved COB and master Swordsman for the offense.
If you're mostly grouped and prefer being the tank/puller, then master TKA with master Pikeman will make you the ultimate tank with half-decent offense. At that point, your personal offensive capabilities shouldn't matter since you will be the meat shield and your group provides offense.
Right now, I'm TKM/MSwords/Doc4000 (typical template) and it's fun soloing. Grouping is nice, too, since I can max out two XP types at 1.2mil, get close to capping combat XP if I add another 200k with Fencer, and then get some Med XP to boot for senses XP.

Well right now I'm a Master Pikeman, Master Brawler, 4333 TK, and 4034 swordsman. The way I figure it i could be MPikes, MBrawler, TKM, and 2034 in swords. I have a couple points tied up in Force sensative right now to with maxed Melee speed and like one in ranged speed. so i think from what im hearing this will be a good way to go since i hunt with my guild alot now.
