Thread: New TKA
Find Feral Banthas on Tatooine. Kill those until you get Balance 1, then go solo Endor.
Hello,
I am thinking about changing to part TKA. I already have unarmed IV but was wondering what would be the best/easiest way to level unarmed from that to master TKA. What skills to get first etc. the whole lot. Any help is appreciated. Thx

I'm currently grinding towards Novice TKA, I'm at unarmed 4 at the moment and I should hit novice within the next couple of days.
Anyway a lot of TKAs who I've been speaking to have told me that I will be a lot better when I get novice TKA, andsome guy told me that I'll go from taking on mobs with up to 1k HAM to ones with up to 6K HAM, does everyone agree with this?
And by the way, what creatures/places whould ya'll recommend grinding on? I supposeI should direct that question to some of thenewer TKAs, as a lot of themore experienced TKAs told me that most ofthe places they grinded on have changed now.
i just dropped rifleman for TKA and have a few questions.
what is the average spped and damage of vibroknuclers and should i buy one speed or damaged sliced?
is there a TKA speed cap?
Do we have any combat penalties?
what skills should i learn first
thanks again
My Vks are about: 2.1, 39-179 (I bought them sliced from a friend)
Go for balance conditioning 1 first (You get your first KD move there) then get all of Power, then finish of Balance then lsst get all of meditate. You could do it slightly differently, but I say definatley go for Balance1 then Power 4, then do the remaining boxes in a different order if you want.
Have fun with TKA.![]()
The first time that I mastered teras kasi, I followed the exact same path as Neeisen described above. However, having just recentlystarted from scratch (with the same character) I choose to alter my path somewhat.
I agree with Neeisen that a teras kasi artist's first box after novice should always be "Balance Conditioning 1". Unarmed knockdown should be your very first special, and will be invaluable all the way to master. I also agree that after balance 1, the entire power tree should be completed. Where I differed this time, is that instead of finishing the balance tree, I went ahead and completed meditate 1 and 2. This gave me powerboost, which came in very handy for completing the profession. Meditate 2 also allowed me to heal poison and disease, which in turn allowed me to "tank" more difficult creatures.
Now, as far as vibro knucklers go, I went from unarmed 3 all the way to master teras kasi with 5 pair of 33 - 132 2.1 speed vibro knucklers. I had 4 of the 5 pairs all (luckily) sliced to 1.5 speed. I opted for speed, because until you complete the entire power/speed tree, I found the attacks to be very slow.As soon as I became a master teras kasi artist this time around, I switched to 44 - 189 2.1 speed (sliced for damage) vibro knucklers. I've done direct comparisons with the 1.5 and 2.1 speed knucklers as a master, and I cannot discern any difference in speed.
No weapon can ever fire at a rate faster than 1 second. Everything has a 1 second cap regardless of skills or weapon.
so a .9 spd fwg5 will actually only shoot at 1.0 ![]()
given your sig template (if it is still correct) i would say you nailed it. meditate 4 for the force of will cause most people wouldnt expect it. Balance 4 for the dizzy/kd. And power 3 for the damage. if you are gonna use swordsman primarily for damage in melee, which i would suggest if you arent TKM........just get 4400 and use the other SP for somethin else if you can.
