Does noone care about this but me?



Sure its just a damage reporting bug, but its still a low damage move (less than melee assault by my tests). I for one would like to actually see the damage thats being done. Lets get this out into the open.




I support removing large annoying signatures.

I'm going to do some tests this morning. I'll post the results here. going to fight critters My CL - 2, My CL, My CL +2.

Testing on grays isn't useful.


well, first mob tested and I don't think I need to go any further:


Master TKM

75 melee accuracy

370 melee damage


on a mob CL - 2


Using Melee Strike (I'm not MB):

hitting for 388 every 3 seconds = 129.3 dps


Using Advanced Combo

hitting for 533 every 6 seconds = 88.8 dps


I can imagine that it gets even worse with Melee Assault, so i'm not even going to keep testing.


Advanced Combo is useless EDIT: Maybe if you can cap melee speed and get AC down to like 3 seconds... but even then you'd haveMS down to 2 and your dps would be:

MS: 194 dps

AC: 177dps


I'll be grinding all day, and if I see any numbers that significantly vary from those above I'll post them.

Combo also has an obscene DPA (damage per action) cost as well.

The main time I use it is when Armor Break is in effect. Then I figure, a single Advanced Combo shot against something that has most of its armor gone is going to do a nice job of reducing health. You only get a couple of shots at the thing before AB fades anyway, so if you make the first one advanced combo and then switch to hit/strike, you can do some serious damage. But this is a rather special case, in that you only get a couple of shots at the thing, so there is no "long term average" DPS like with a regular battle.

If your Advanced Combo move will do enough damage to put something down in ONE hit (e.g. a guy you have been working on and his health is down to 700 and AC does 710 to him), right now, it is always better to use that than to use multiple other moves, since the recharge time after your final blow is irrelevant (the battle is over). Similarly with Armor Break, the recharge time is less relevant because you only get a shot or two in anyway, before you have to re-apply the AB.

In all other cases, Advanced Combo isn't really worth it due to the combination of high action cost and high recharge rate... you're better off doing several smaller, less costly attacks.

Yup, that's how I use it: after an armor break + knockdown I'll AC oncejust to get max damage.

I knew that adv combo didn't show up as doing a lot of damage, but I didn't know that it actually did LESS dps than melee strike. If its doing less dps than melee strike, than this SERIOUSLY needs some looking at by the devs. A non-master brawler move shouldn't out do a master teras kasi move >:-O

Can we please get this bug stickied as one of our main issues with TKA right now ?

No it won't be stickied.

As it stands Adv Combo seems to be doing the amount of damage it should (though it is displayed wrong in the Combat Spam, much like the old Combo 2 Attack that for a long time displayed it only did one point of damage) & so is working as intended & isn't a bug.

That doesn't mean it won't come up on my issues list as possibly needing a bit more of a boost (once the combat spam for it has been fixed (or just lots of hard numbers to prove what damage it is doing)& we can get a real indication of how much it's doing etc), but it does mean there is no bug needed to be stickied. Theres too many stickies up there as it stands already & I need to trim them down a bit but I won't be stickying individual bugs unless it's a real game breaker. There is a bug thread up there by all means just make sure it's in there.

Well perhaps you could actually organize the bug thread that is stickied? Instead of long ramblng thread of different peoples posts that may or may not be verified - a thread where the fist post consisted of the top TKA bugs which is constantly updated and edited to include new findingings by you would probably be more helpful to the devs and actually get a glaring bug such as this one fixed. Almost all the other professions have a thread such as mentioned.



Furthermore there is no WAY that advanced combo could be doing the intended damage, no matter what it reports. If you actually bothered to do some testing you would see like many of the rest of us that it does less damage than melee strike.
