Well, TKA is still not an awful class. I think they should have let us keep knockdown but dropped teh damage it did significantly perhaps. Personally I find it hard to survive completely now as I am also a Commando.

At least TKA gets some targeted attacks and lots of specials. Commando gets 2 weapons with 2 specials that are identical and NO targeted attacks, much less bleeders hehe. We were promised a fix but who knows when we will get it and whether it will work well.

I say bring back knockdown but drop damage on it, and drop HAM cost. maybe make it non damaging, at least you could knock it down and give it a damaging special or something.

As well, personally I do not like the VK because we are supposed to be an unarmed class. We should do that damage COMPLETELY unarmed.

If TK want to be able to fight a commando or BH however, they should require more skill points to earn, regardless of the way they are in the novels. A bh and commando simply have to master the most combat skills. a commando has to master all the combat skills of a BH and unarmed. it takes the longest and is the most work, hence they SHOULD be the strongest combat class in teh game. If a TKA chooses to devote the same amount of points purely into combat he should THEN be a match.

I play as a TKA all of the time since commando is unplayable so I understand everything you guys say but also see the other points.

You think you deserve to be able to take on a Commando or BH? why? what did you do to earn it? they ahve to work much harder to master those professoins and they eat up more options. Make TK require master brawler and some medic to justify meditation and then it will take up as many skill points and THEN I would say it should be on a par.

Go ahead and flame me. But its the undeniable truth. you should get bigger rewards for harder work. I got master marks before I got master unarmed, and I was halfway through my second TK skill box before I got novice commando. It is harder and so is BH. TKA is more difficult to get than pistoleer because you get beat on more. So we shoudl have stronger defense. we do. We have the most of any class. Maybe we need more, not sure. But in a 1 on 1 pvp battle they should be about equal considering what they cost.

So if you want to be an Uber-class stop your whinign and be a pistoleer/doctor. with the way people cry nerf in this game they are gonna be a flavor of hte month.

While I've always admitted Commando has had the worst time of any profession, I dare to disagree with some of your points.

1. We already have a "knockdown" that does almost literally no damage to the target. It's in the brawler class tree.

2. The targeted attacks are inefficient for the skill points to get them, and the other status effect special abilities seem to do nothing tangible, with the exception of dizzy but even it does not work on most non-humanoidmobs.

3. You forget, there is another tradeoff. When you go Bounty hunter, you are becoming amoderate amountmore proficient with several different weapon types, and gain a couple very useful specials. You are not, however, becoming more powerful than any other elite class within their realm of expertise. The skill point cost just isn't just for that kind of power.Basically you trade off your ability to be extrordinarilypowerful with ONE weapon type (and thus only combat viable in certain situations) for the ability to become more adaptable inanyfight by being fairly powerful with any weapon (thus increasing the situations in which you are combat viable).

Bounty hunters get the ability to go: "Hmm my target is a TKA,I can useuse a carbine or rifleto exploit his range weakness," or "Hmm, my target is a rifleman, I should probaby get up lose and personal as quickly as possible to exploit histrouble with aiming at close range."Other classes may be more powerful with those weapons, but the bounty hunter is the only class with a viable amount ofskill in all of them. Their power is their flexibility. They must be able to quickly change tactics to survive.

If the pistoleer fights a pistol using bounty hunter I expect a pistoleer to do fairly well if not win.If a rifleman fights a rifle using bounty hunter, I expect the rifleman to do well if not win. If a carbineer fights a bounty hunter using carbines, I expect the Carbineer to to fairly well if not win. If a TKA or other melee profession fights the bounty hunter in a melee battle, I expect to seethe bounty hunter'sremains fitin a colostomy bag. If the bounty hunter is a shrewd tactician and fights all above opponents at ranged and with weapons that take advantage of the opponent's weaknesses, I expect them all to die.

4. Commandos are not so different. You trade the defensive bonuses, skills, and fighting styles of the other classes, to become adept as taking down an AT-AT. They are supposed to have some of the most powerful weapons in the game armor peircing-wise. They have a increadibly important role in battles, being the only classes that can use turrets and do moderate damage to large groupsand that fire weapons with enough "umph" to take down base defenses, battle droids, andarmored vehicles. That's one juicy steak of a role if I do say so myself. Right now things for commandosdo not work right at all, it's a shame but true. They should be feared on the battlefield, and I'm sure once they are fixed up, they will be. I think there's a bit of warning in the fact that unarmed fighting 4 is required for Commando, as melee hurts them badly when their heavy weapons are drawn. But then again I can see that happening, they are commandos, not rambo. They can't fight melee combattants effectively with both hands on some large andheavy super-rifle, so they have a little unarmed skill to help hold off the attacker if theywant to dropthe weapon for a moment. If not, they'll just be pretty defenseless. It's a cut and dried weakness.

I wish ya well, and hope the commando fix goes well.
