Thread: please take a look at this idea and see if it's something we could possibly get to the devs.
i have a great idea on the anti-kite issue:
a special move that makes the attacker lose their target. it could be called"misdirection."
npc's wouldn't have a problem regaining their target because they're obviously controlled by acomputer, so it wouldn't unbalance pve,but pc's would be effected by it beacause they would have to swing their camera around and try to re-target the person.
now if we could do a misdirection as often as we needed, (in place of another special move),it would possibly slow down the person running away by causing confusion in their mechanics, and it would also atleast keep us from getting hit so much by adding that extra delay in the "kiter" shooting us. when we are in a close range situation, we would rarely use this special, because it would take the same time as a regular attack special, although it could be used as a tanking move too. it would not be a sure thing by just spamming it because it will have some sort of HAM costs associated with it. lastly, removing someones target would be a great addedtool to use in group pvp. the person will automaticaly target an attacker if they have no target. if we are fighting in a group and use a misdirection, the person loses their target and auto-retargets the first person to hit them, this would make us be able to cause a fair amount of confusion, but not anything that is really powerful.
if anyone sees any balance issues with this move let me know, i have a lot of ideas on this and i don't want to make this post too long. just post your concerns and i will answer any questions.
It's a good idea.
But I'm more for giving TK's a Dodge skill. They could put it in the Balance line. Brawlers should naturally have better reflexes. I'd rather see maybe giving us +10 to Dodging added to the Balance line rather than a new special move that'll just kill up my ham bars ![]()
just my 2 cents

I like it. It has benefits and downfalls to it. It almost sounds like a self /rescue command. The problem with that is that in a group (if you are tanking) you could cause the mob to aggro one of your shooters. I see this as a good thing so that it wont be a completely debilitating move to the mob. As for pvp, it wouldn't be AS useful, unless you are fighting in larger groups. It's not so much a defense against kiting as it is just a means for us to avoid damage as we're chasing the kiters.
I'd give it a 7 of 10 on the useful proposed skill scale (yep just made up that scale myself)
it would also give you a chance to get the hell out of there......
very usefull in citys, there is a lot of lag, and you cannot stay close to them, should make it harder for them to click on you too...that extra halfa second you need to get out of site.
