I had a GSP before I started using my Bile Drenched Quenker. He did real well for me and I could solo most any mission provided I could take the MoB's one or two at a time. The Wrix, I think, takes less damage than the GSP unless the MoB it's fighting has armor piercing. I think it's mainly personal preference as they're very similar in overall performance. I'd just pick whichever one you like the look of or feel comfortable with.

Er, might want to try the CH boards, but anyway armor of light reduces ALL damage by 50% (unless it has armor piercing) in which case special protections might work better...seems like it would be rather situational either which way you look at it.

Both suck IMO. They are herders. They love to run mobs and as a TK thats a bad thing. Personaly i would train taming II and grab a Kliknik Defender. (CL24, aggro) They have intimidate and ranged attack. They flat out rock at low levels.

light armor only drops those attacks 50% that it has no vulnerabilties to.

if both were dealt 100pts melee damage. the wrix would take about 37pt. the sludge would take 40. not much diff. now ranged would be diff. dunno what the mobs attack with so i can't answer that one.

if i had a choice b/t the 2 i'd go for thesludge. the wrix run too much from fights. this is both in the wild and as tamed pets. the sludge never ran from a fight. this is just my xperience. so dont take it as the only truth.

Nicely buffed TKM best tank in game IMO.

i'm kinda diggin' my GSP. i let him take most of the damage for me,stay outside the 4m mark and add my wacks in. rarely has the mob turned and argo'd on me as long as i stay outside that 4m box, and my only damage is what i do to myself by spammin' specials. i like him better than the GW i had. ask me why... dunno, just seems to work for me.

Anyway, GSP's are the fools tank...they're CL 30 and everyone brags about their 60% kinetic...Grand Wrixes are much much better with Light armor and 25% kinetic (or equivalent to 75% kinetic). GSP's hp is nothing compared to this. I was master CH for a very long time before I dropped it (for pride sake...everyone was going CH cause 90% of people are power whores and I want to be better than that) and like most things, the majority of people (who own these GSPs) are wrong. Grand Wrixes will win everytime full-grown vs full-grown. I tried it many many times. Plus, GWs are actually lower CL and thus you can have 3 out at Master as opposed to 2. Absolutely beautiful for PvP. Not much scarier than having a pack of Sabertooth tigers running at you twice as fast as your burst can carry you.

if he's lookin' for a pet to compliment TKA, i see no problem with posting here.

...oh wait, but then again... i'm just a fool for using a GSP so what would i know anyway.

gsp are cl 23. 8000HAM. g wrix cl 22 6500HAM. the light armor and eff does not add to 75%. you take 50% off the base then 25% off the remainder. as i explained 37.5pt/100damage for a g wrix and 40pts for a gsp. so a g wrixwill last about 176 hits before incapped. gsp will last 200. 24 hit difference. assuming 100pt of melee damage.

i sell pets so i make it my job to learn them. from input from others and my own testing.

being a master ch is nothing but a title if you fail to learn. i've had novice and non-ch teach me some things about some animals i never knew. so learn from this ch/bh.

last i checked GSP had 70 or 75% kinetic.

for the one of the many ch debates on this topic.

for certainmobs certain pets work better. but since i mainly go after kin damage mobs that's the biggest factor in what i concider a good pet. imho we don't need anything better than a mt kreevol or rock beetle. i've soloed 5 mt dewbacks with a baby rock that only had 440 HAM. a mt kreevol took on 3 mut baz while i was incapped long enough for me to revive and finish them off.
