Well late one night im at the Kor Vella star port i had just come from getting TKA training and i was so excited about my new found proffesion Ifirst thing i did was put my Tera Kasi Novice tag up. Well i had went to buy my ticket ( the shuttle took off without me ) and i was a little bored so asked the about 9-10 people around if they wanted to duel. No response, I asked again and still no response. So I asked why wont anbody duel me? and 1 person said nah id get pwnd ( a freakin MBH might i add ) so i said why is everybody so afraid to duel. and he said were afraid your gonna pull out that tera kasi master tag and start spamming unarmed hit 3. I told him im just a novice i just got the skill today of course his response was nah id still prolly get pwnd. So my question is are TKAs that scarey have that much of an affect as that we cant even get someone to duel even as a TKN. I mean come on he was a MBH i shouldnt be that scarey

I don't think so. From my experience as a TKA master in pvp we're just about useless unless you can trick people to following you into buildings. But from the way people talk us up you'd think we could KD/dizzy just by looking at someone.

Thats because he wasnt wearing some of the armor peice's or you lieing, I can barely hit for 700 on KD person in PvP. I have been knocked down many times but I managed to get up by putting armor on and spamming /stand. Works for me, dont know why doesnt work for the whiners

Well its really simple yet unfortunate that the people that know what they are doing can be very dangerous with any profession (cept for maybe pikeman) but the ones that dont, whine while tho ones that are not having a problem just go about their business so you see lots of whining and not many saying I fought one of those and you just do this and your fine so the whiners get heard more.

Its claasic case of the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I have to agree with the previous poster about a- he wasnt fully armored or b- you are fibbing.. well maybe it said 800 damage but you werent hitting that Hard. In my full adv comp armor a tk avgs with ua3 maybe 40 damage.. i'll say 60 but thats being generous. Its always funny to get KD dizzy and watch em spam ua3 on you then you just get up and 1 hit em b/c there hams burnt.

I think the problem you ran into is that you were trying to start a duel. I just got TKM, but I have been a Master Rifleman for a while. I walk around Overt most of the time and overt TKM's don't scare me because I can stay away from them, but when dueling TKM's, I lost almost every time. Duels and PVP are very different, and most of the good duelers are TKM or some melee profesion and are ready and practiced at 1v1 combat. Duels almost always start closer than max range, usually within 30m so the TKM can lunge and get in range to knockdown fast, even warcry to get 10 seconds of free hits.

Normal PVP usually starts from beyond 64m and the ranged combatant has a big advantage. This is why you see most TKM stay covert in overt groups so they can sneak up on their opponents to gain back the advantage. I think we are that scary. I wouldn't have picked up this profession if we weren't. And a MBH is wise to decline that duel if you ask me. They have no defence and fear the dizzy knockdown more than rifleman .

btw, how do you guys get up with /stand? I hit that and it says "you are so dizzy you fall down, you are so dizzy you fall down, you are so dizzy you fall down" Then I finally stand up after 5 or 6 tries but my finger was too fast on the stand button and I fall down again for standing up when I was already standing. Am I doing something wrong, or does the defence against knockdown work every time you try and stand and I just never had enough D vs knockdown before?

It's possible to hit somebody through their armor, even if they are wearing a full suit. I noticed this when I fought creatures wearing full set of Ubese, sometimes instead of the usual ~20 damage, I'd get a 200+ damage hit and i'm like "**edit**, i'm wearing full set of Ubese." Also, once in a duel, i nailed this guy for 1800 damage with 2 UH3 while he was knocked down. He was wearing a full suit of composite armor BUT i don't know if it had kinetic resistance (if that's possible).

We are scary. I was at the imp outpost not long ago, and a guy with a grendeer tag floating above his head wanted to duel me. When i was a BH back in the day, i would have turned him down for fear of black ham bars, but meditate takes care of that now, so i did it... LOL, spammed the KD/ dizzy/ UH3, and he was out, but then i kept getting hit, I was like "**edit**" i turn around to see his three pets attacking me too.... Didnt know he was an MCH, so i started with the narglatch, BAM, down, then on to the razor cat, BAM down, as i pounded the sludge panther, someone healed the commando without me knowing, BAM, sludge panther down. He flamed me, and I went down...... Force of will, I came back up, KD/dizzy/UH3..... done deal. Needless to say i did have some nice doc buffs, and powerboost...along wioth a muon/fishack/glazed glucose combo. Sux im a wookie and can't wear armor.... woulda been different maybe. I might not have went down.

yes I'm afraid it is quite possible to hit someone in a full suit of 90% composite with a stun layer for full damage as if they were not wearing any armor at all. This is what we armorsmith's call the armor hole. Before the last big patchthe holeshowed up a whole lot more from wearing things like backpacks, undershirts, rings or basicly anything that you could wear at the same time as you wore armor. Basicly it used to be that you could get hit in the backpack and the system would check and see if it had an armor rating and as it did not it would let the shot go right past the armor.

Basicly after us armorsmiths were harping on the devs for months the hole got mostly fixed.

These days normally the only time the armor hole shows up are when your getting lots of hits in a short amount of time. As well here are some thread you might take a peek at if you want to find out more about the hole and how to defend against it
