So I've got a really nice cloak

Ranged Injury Speed +25, Unarmed Damage +9, Volley Fire Bonus +15

Ive recently started unarmed, and im halfway through novice tka. When I wear this cloak and examine the combat spam, I notice no difference in damage. Ive even unequiped my vk's, still no major changes.

So I decided to track down a skill tape for unarmed damage +1 to see if the damage was dependant on a mod of 10. Still nothing.

Please tell me this is not like weapon experimentation points, where +10 only gets you one more point.

Thanks... and any more advice and opinions on skill tapes would rule!

First question : do you see the +9 unarmed damage bonus in your character skills mod window ?

My undertstanding is that the bonus starts to work above +10.

Man I hope thats not true, since this cloak was looted with the mods on it.

Still no noticable difference. Anyone else know?

I can't seem to tell the difference with any of this stuff.

I bought +88 points of healing mod clothing (I know +25 is max) because I wanted to take into account decay when dying, and I figure they will still be useful even at 30% condition.

I have tested extensively and I can't tell a difference in buffs or healing...so no clue really. One would expect to see~25% increase but statistically I see no changes.

I'm a TKM and Master Doc. Firstly, I actually get better buffs using a 110 droid with +16 clothing mods for medical instead of +32 (I have a dec vest +16 on wound treatment and injury treatment, and a skirt which is the same. I usually take off my shirt when buffing because they're alot better with +16 than with +32). This leads me to believe that anything over +25 actually has a negative effect to your buffs.

Also, when using a skill tape with multiple mods, only the highest mod applies. I believe it's the same for looted items as well. So currently you won't be getting any benefits for unarmed by using that +9 because effectively you're only using the +25 Ranged Injury Speed mod. The mods still show in the skills list, but they aren't actually applied which really sucks.

My understanding differs from all the others posted so far. You aren't noticing a difference because the difference is negligable. You are doing 9 more points of damage. Not a big deal and easily lost in the randomness of damage done.

for example... You do50 - 150 base damage (VK's), and have a normal skill of +100 unarmed damage (so you are doing 150 - 250) add +9 to that and the range is still only 159-259. Not a significant change and probably goes unnoticed since there are only 9 new damage numbers that you might see.

As far as the Doc that see's better healing with the +16 cloths over the +32 cloths, once again the damage range for buffs and damaged healed is so large, you could have had a few bad random number generations give you the impression that +16 is better than +32. Or it could be that your theory is correct and anything over +25 works as a negative. I'm also a doc and I usually wear +75 worth of med enchancing cloths (for the look really, I like to LOOK like a doctor when I'm buffing), and I seem to buff in the same range as when I only wear +25 (all I take with me on hunts to avoid decay loss).

Message edited because I had a bout of big fingered typos.

I tracked 90 buffs at +0 and 90 buffs at +88 (15 runs of 6 buffs each time)

Small population, admittedly, but one would have expected to see some variance. Statistically the same.

I will try a run at +25 only and let you know, just in case there is some whacky looping effect that penalizes us for having more than max - like the armor attachment thing where similar attachments cancel each other out in favor of the largest vs stacking.

Thanks!
