Thread: Farewell to TKA...

Well, I have had a TKA character on one server or another for 18 months or so. It started on Eclipse with "Kaja", when Nynna M'reth invited me to join a roleplay guild there. Kaja was a "street fighter" sort and so I made her a brawler, and eventually she became a TKA. I played her for almost a year, on and off (she was also an architect, which was neat). But I got distracted with other things (such as City of Heroes for a while).
Then I decided to get a 2nd account, because the people I knew on Eclipse all faded away, and the guiild on my main server (Naritus) is awesome. So I started a new character, "Katja", much like the old one. She also became a TKA. She's been an MTKA for 7 months or so now.
But well... I just can't stomach the new combat system. It bores me. I liked the old system better -- so sue me. I liked that I didn't have to spend ALL my points in combat to be effective... and it is boring to me to be just a Sword/TKA and nothing else. I tried CH/TKA for a while post CU but it was pretty sucky... and no, I have no interest in going back and re-grinding CH again now, regardless of what it is like since the last pubish.
So I finally decided to get rid of one of my two accounts. I've basically had it with SOE's utter incompetence, the buggy releases, the inadequate testing, and the bottom line is... I hate their new system for combat, and wouldn't like it even if it weren't buggy as hell 4 months out (but it still is, most assuredly, buggy as hell also). So I decided that the combat account would be the first to get the heave-ho. In all honesty the entertainer may not be far behind... but for now I am keeping that one open.
Anyway... I have liked this forum a lot. The TKA people who post here are great -- knowledgeable of their prof but very open and welcoming of new people, and patient enough to keep answering the same questions (Unarmed Combo anyone?) over and over again with a smile. I probably won't read this forum any more with the cancellation of the TKA account (it was not this account btw), though I will still be around over in the entertainer forums until I give up SWG entirely.
So, I thought I would say farewell to my fellow TKAs. Whatever else my character dropped -- CH, Architect, Doc, Medic, you name it -- she was always a TKA, and it was always the BEST combat prof in the game (it still is, animation-wise).
