Thread: Is unarmedhit1 a TKM's bestmove?
I'm still new to TK, but the speed caps are what make certain moves better then others. You're forgetting to take into account the speed mods you get and the 1 second speed cap.
ie: that unarmedhit1 with it's 2x damage mod is capped at 1second for speed just like unarmed3 with it's 4x damage mod.
haha. I assume not, but there is some seriousness in that question. here goes...
Using the table of moves, speeds, dmg, etc from the FAQ (and assuming the speed is an indication of how "fast" a move is (i.e. lower number = faster (the FAQ does not explain whether this is true)) and running a quick Excel formula for Dmg/sec, I get (assuming base speed of 1sec and base of dmg 300 (arbitrary)):
Move Name - Time - Dmg - DpS
unarmedBlind - 2 - 1.5 - 225
unarmedBodyHit1 - 2 - 2.5 - 375
unarmedCombo1 - 2 - 2 - 300
unarmedCombo2 - 4 - 3 - 225
unarmedDizzy1 - 2 - 1.5 - 225
unarmedHeadHit1 - 2 - 2.5 - 375
unarmedHit1 - 1.5 - 2 - 400
unarmedHit2 - 2.5 - 3 - 360
unarmedHit3 - 3 - 4 - 400
unarmedKnockdown1 - 1.5 - 1 - 200
unarmedKnockdown2 - 2 - 1.5 - 225
unarmedLegHit1 - 2 - 2.5 - 375
unarmedLunge1 - 1.5 - 1 - 200
unarmedLunge2 - 2 - 3 - 450
unarmedSpinAttack1 - 2 - 2 - 300
unarmedSpinAttack2 - 3 - 3 - 300
unarmedStun1 - 2 - 1.25 - 188
Formula = 300*Dmg modifier/1sec*Speed mod
Can this be right? Surely I've got the "Speed" backwards (but I prefer to assume on the "pessimistic" side). Is the "Speed" column a "quickness modifier" (i.e. a 4 means 4x as fast as a 1)?
I'm trying to determine the fastest kill combo *with math* (as opposed to "That's what Jim told me to do when I made TKM"). I'm not worried about HAM costs, since I have all those costs and will use different macros based on situation (i.e HAM sensitive in dungeons, Dmg sensitive when soloing slinking voris, etc). Also not interested in status attacks. Those are OBVIOUS leaders in a battle
JUST want to understand DpS for each move. Haven't found a good online resource yet (though the FAQ is pretty darn good).
