Thread: TKA/Pikeman?

Hi all - I have been reading these boards for a while (trying ot dodge all the nerf TKA posts) and am looking for something as my secondary character, My primary being a full crafter -- I chose TKA and am looking fo ra secondary profession. I initialy thought Doc, but paying my money for buffs is easy enough, and doctor doesn't help my actual melee fights...
I was considering Pikeman/TKM -- has anyone tried this combo? Not sure why pikeman appeals to me, just the idea of beating something with a stick I find entertaining...
I'm not really loooking for a ubar PVP template, im more interested in the PVE game...

well, with my limited experience against pikes, the good ones are really badass. just today a master was running around Theed talking with friends/beating the living hell out of any guy who came after him. That could be because he turned out to be a pretty damn good doctor (kept healing all damage done to him, and he was buffed pretty hard), but I dunno. really it's up to you, check out the skill tree to see if it's for you.

Pikeman is geared towards beating up NPC types in PvE, similar to the swordsman, except the pikeman excells at AoE. AoE stun, AoE KD, AoE Dizzy, need I say more? Your damage output per second exceeds any other profession if you are surrounded. Just hope your buffs and armor last long enough to take all the pounding you get whilst you put everything in the grave.
It is hard at the start with Pikeman cause you hit slow and you couldn't hit a side of a barn even if you tried. But once you're halfway up the accuracy tree the profession rocks, once you have the speed mods, you'll go to town on everything.
Unlike TKA, you do not feel the power of the profession until you reach close to master and you do not notice any gradual power shift till then. All TKA will offer the pikeman template is in the mediation line and the melee and ranged defences.
With this particular template you are geared towards doing damage and is not very defence in nature.
