Thread: are any of the TKA specials busted...

Hey there I'm fairly new to the TKA profession (currently am 0/4/4/3) and working my way slowly but surely up to master.

and as the title suggests are there any of the specials in the TKA line that dont work properly?

I was a pistoleer before TKA and i know that many of the specials in that prof are "funny"


a guild mate of mine suggested that unarmed hit2 and unarmed spin2 are borked as they cause less damage that spin 1 or hit 1.

but another guild mate of mine who has done TKM before and is doing it again suggested that as far as he is aware everything is working fine.

while i have been out on my grind I have noticed that unarmed combo 2 seems to do less dmg than unarmed stun1 am i wrong in thinking this?


any help would be greatly appreciated

Nah, Ithink they're all pretty much fine.


I remember one of the combos used to show up as only 1 point of damage in the logs, even though it was working ok. Then there were some questions about whether or not Centre of Being worked for TK's but I think both of those are sorted out now. There's one of the innate defences that's supposed to be a bit iffy but I can't remember the name and don't know if it's still an issue.


I might be wrong though.


I CAN tell you that the main attacks that you'll be using all work as intended,i.e. KD2, stun, dizzy, intimidate, blind, spin3, lungeand UA3.

First of all, if you were a pistoleer, my condolences I know a lot of their specials don't work as intended, but you wont find that problem with Teras Kasi really. There are a few questions about a couple of our specials, but nothing of the magnitude of what pistoleers face.



The only "problems" I'm aware of is that according to some tests, the DPS (damage per second) of Combo 1 seems to be higher than that of Combo 2. Combo 1 also seems to have a higher tendacy to damage an opponents health pool as opposed to the Action and Mind pools. Since Combo 1 also costs less HAM from the user, it makes Combo 1 a more attractive choice in combat, especially if you're fighting unbuffed.


I've never heard of unarmed Spin 2 doing less than unarmed spin 2, but that doesn't mean it's not true. We just don't have a concrete method of proving or disproving that theory.

I think Defensive Accuity is Broken...I could be wrong

Most stuff works, Defensive accuity works, but its um... sh1t.

Combo2 is pretty much useless, Combo1 has a higher DPS to health than any tkm attack, no tka special takes any ham bar as fast as combo1 takes health.

Nope, defensive Acuity works as designed, it just isn't as good as the secondary defenses from the other professions. (Info in the stickies )

Not entirely accurate, but many people do seem to have that impression. Unarmed Body Hit does more damage to health overall, as it targets Health exclusively. Unarmed Hit 3 is by far our highest DPS attack, and does seem to focus more on Health than Action or Mind. (Just to clarify )
