Thread: Hell hath no fury...
My suggestion is avoid the yellow cons like the plague. Sit out side of one of the less populated towns and chain blues, or find a blue spawning lair and chain blues from there. The light blues will cause virtually no downtime depending on your secondary stats, and the dark blues cause very little downtime. Taking a lair of dark blues will take you about the same amount of time that it would take to kill one yellow for about the same overall exp-- for less downtime! This is how I did it, and many others before me from from what I hear.
Hope this helps ![]()

Well.. you will do your best damage against humanoids with rifles. I suggest joining the Empire (of course) and running faction missions exclusively. If you really want to shine, make friends with a medic and have him get fast xp healing you while you run your missions.
If you don't want to be vulnerable to terrorists of the rebellion, you can also go after faction such as Valerians, Jabba's folk, or several other groups. Humanoids will 'kite' you, but in a group you should be able to get in a few licks on targets engaging other group mates before they can react.
I agree. Stay away from yellows. The thing to look for in the exp grind up to Novice TKA is Experience points per hour. While taking on yellows might rake you in 300-700 a pop, the downtime is killer.... Look for blues that give you about 100exp a pop and tear through them. Tap the life out of camps. It was a long long long grind for me (getting the 70k to novice post VK change,) but I got there.
I grinded in Naboo wandering the wilderness. Take a couple of destroy missions for cash, then wander looking for: flewts, night spiders, hermet spiders, ikopis, and other blues that net around a 100exp a pop that you can take down with ease.
It sucked, I agree. But once you hit TKA, your whole game will change. I am a Smuggler/TKA and I tear through things right now. I went from grinding on blues to being able to one shot melee 'em(mostly Thugs on Tarus.)
Silum,
Ignore the ones here that tell you not too. If you really wanna be a TK then be it. It's gonna take time and be a long hard road, but it is very worth it in the end regardless of what many are whining about.
I know it sounds messed up but...
buy a good set of VKs and use em anyway.
I gave an old pair of mine to a buddy going for smuggler. He had got up to UA3 and was really feeling the grind
You do a little bit less damage than you do unarmed (sometimes a little more cause of the ap rating) and you hit a LOT quicker.
Most if not all the damage increase went to actual TK...i dont think ANY went to UA, so they actually hit comparably to a weapon they are uncertified in...pretty messed up, but the way it is
