Thread: Holo: Combat Equilibrium -- The Solution to ALL Melee Target Out Of Range issues (Response please)

The simple problem with "Target is out of range" is Combat Equilibrium, this is suppose to make your recovery from kd such moves quicker, I.E. you get up faster.

BUT. It appears EVERYONE can get up as soon as they are lunge/kd'd in PVP even without being a melee-er with this mod. Now if you made KD moves and such in PVP take longer to stand up from with modifiers to lower the time required to get up from a KD coming from Combat Equilibrium youll have fxied the problem.

How? Well only melee's get this mod. Melees arent going to kite other melees so them being able to get up from a KD is a vital thing. Now since ranged wouldnt have this mod we'd have a significant advantage with such a move, and we'd be able to actually close in on them with the moves, pending you get the equation right for how long it should take for said target to get up in general and then how much its modified by the Combat Equilibrium mod.

Yes, I just solved the target out of range issue. But will Holo respond to it? Well with my track record he never has, and I doubt he will this time. So if you all agree, make redundant posts with exactly what I just said, he's bound to respond to one of us

Oh and a clear cut example of what I'm trying to say:

PVP: When KDing any target it will take 5 seconds for them to stand up (same as in PVE), this 5 seconds is modified by Combat Equilibrium stat. So say you have 50 combat equib and you make each + = 1% thats 50% therefore the person with +50 Combat equib would get up in 2.5 seconds as opposed to 5. Since the ranged guys dont have this mod they would always be at 5, and there would only be a variable difference in how fast melee's get up when fighting each other which provides whole new incentives for taking any such melee class and provides new advantages and disadvantages for combat between the other melee classes.

And yes, what I've proposed is basically what Combat Equib was originally intended to do, but doesnt. The difference with mine is that I'm suggesting a FIXED timer for getting up from KD, which is THEN modified by how high your Combat Equib mod is. This is already implemented in PVE, the mob animation gets up but he cant do anything for 5 seconds as is coded by the development. Simply port this over to PVP too, the player cant get up or can get up but cant go anywhere or do anything for 5 seconds. (Or maybe slightly longer, but not shorter than 5) this would warrant the 30 second timer for both PVE and PVP and at the same time fix the target out of range issues. In 5 seconds a multitude of things can be done to a target. (My suggestion would be perhaps for a lil bit longer than 5 because thats cutting it tight, as it would probably take the 5 seconds just to get back on top of the opponent, maybe 7-10) You'd be surprised how quick 5-10 seconds passes in PVP. Anyways I went off on a rant here, so even 5 seconds would suffice..Bleh.

sorry man thats the way it goes....ive been trying to get some intrest and fervor raised about stuff like this but most people would rather just rant or flame. good idea tho i like it. moreover it actually seems like it could be implemented unlike 90% of the crazy ideas that get put forward on these boards

Yes, I agree and I've always thought the same way ever since I saw how quickly people recovered from lunge. It would go a long way in eliminating some of the kiting issues and giving more purpose to Combat Equilibrium at the same time.

Anyone who has ever claimed to care about this profession and has not responded to this post is completely a hypocrite. I feel this is exactly what we were all looking for and potentially a solution to our NUMBER ONE issue. And its being ignored so you can respond to other stuff? If we can get this kind of suggestion to be noticed by the developers we will have our class pretty much fixed. Now come on!

Sorry I failed to stroke your ego sooner... I was spending time with my family.

Good idea by the way, as are many of the ideas that come and die on this forum.
