....if using VK's???

Sorry if this is all noob stuff btw. I got to thinking today when i was looking at the skill trees for the other melee professions like pikeman and fencer and noticed that they didn't get any modifiers for weapon damage and weapon speed. They only got modifiers for accuracy. I assumed that this was due to the fact that they used weapons and these weapons already have a damage and speed attached to them. Makes perfect sense to me.

The question that I'm getting at is this...do our damage and speed modifiers only apply when we aren't using VK's? If that is the case then, except for the specials, the power line is not a very useful ladder to climb if we are using VK's.

Does anyone have any more info on this?

They also apply while using your hands.

um...when is said "when we aren't using VK's" I was refering to using our hands. I want to know if the damage and speed modifiers that we get in the power technique ladder do anything for us when we ARE using VK's because I think that they do not and that makes those modifiers worthless IF USING VK's.

I guess I could ask it like this. A master pikeman and novice pikeman hit for the same damage and speed with the same weapon (not using specials or beserk). Does a TKM and TKN hit for the same damage and speed if they are using the same set of VK's?

Yes, they apply while using VK. VK damage is thrown on top of your unarmed damage and the VK speed is used as your base speed instead of the 4.0 seconds that your fists have.

No I think speed is also based on your speed mods, as I can use a set of 2.2 speed VKs at the 1.0 second speed cap.
