Thread: F.Y.I Damage Mitigation
Melee and Ranged mitigation will not stack.
I.E. if you dabble if you are melee and dabble in ranged they will not stack according to the patch notes.
Just making everyone aware if you have not read yet.
Thanks

Are you sure they didn't mean if you dabble or master 2 prof with the same type of mitigation they will not stack? i.e. Master Pistoleer and Master Rifleman would give you ranged mitigation of 6, BUT they do not stack so you only end up with 3.
However, Master Pistoleer and Teras Kasi Master would give you melee mitigation of 3 and ranged mitigation of 3. And they are not suppose to stack?
Can we get a clarification on this?

Melee Damage Mit doesn't stack with Melee Damage Mit, but it does stack with Range Damage Mit 1, II or III. Just the highest in each branch is taken into account.
This post is completely misleading and incorrect.
If I have misread it then I apologize for confusing anyone.
Thanks

For a melee profession to get ranged mitigation 2: 15 skill points for novice marksman, 14 skill points to master one line, 6 skill points for novice advanced marksman, 12 skill points for three boxes, total 47 skill points spent dabbling for level 2. For level 1 (20%), you need to spend 40 skill points. For level 3, you need to master an elite ranged profession, for a total of 92 skill points "outside" your primary profession (although with a dual mastery, it's not really outside your profession any more...)
My real disagreement with this way of doing things is that you need to dabble so very much to get any mitigation. To go from 0 to 20%, 40 points, to go from 20% to 40%, 7 more points, to go from 40% to 60%, 45 more points. I don't think there's anybody who'll cross-train just to get level 1 mitigation when level 2 mitigation costs only seven more points. I'm not sure what would be the best way to change this, however. Moving basic defenses into the non-advanced professions seems to me like it might be reasonable, although that might make it *too* easy.
