Thread: Ideas on new damage type/weapon for TK

Just an idea, don't know if it's been passed on to the devs or if it's even a possibility. Why not give TK blast damage in the form of "blast gloves" or some variant? This would kill two birds with one stone-first, it would give the purist who believes TK is for fighting without knucklers their wish plus allow them to do more damage than just fighting "unarmed"; second, it would do the most obvious, which is give us a new (to the profession) damage typeand make us more potent when hunting higher level creatures such as NS elders and so forth. Concievably, damage on the gloves would not be in the range of a power hammer but say around 200-250 or so with speed being around a 3 or 4. Just a thought that occured to me, as I said, don't know if it's been brought up before but input is appreciated.

I'm sorry to say that whenever new damage types/weapons has been brought up on these forums, some flaming trollers decide to destroy the post, so be prepared.
However, I think that we should get another damage type, though I'm not sure what. I don't want Stun or anything silly like that, I just want to be able to take on some of these mobs that have 100% kin resist! I mean honestly, what's the point in that. They should either get rid of 100% resists or give each profession at least 2 damage types.
Trollers, please don't flame, if you have nothing constructive to say, don't bother posting.

Thanks for the reply. I guess people are entitled to their own opinion, and should the decide to flame for whatever reason, that's ok with me too. I just feel its the mark of a small person when someone tears another's idea apart. If you're not part of the solution, though, you're part of the problem.
I agree, we need another damage type. My character is master swordsman/master fencer/almost master TK again, and Ioften find myselfwishing I had another option when using TK which is probably my favorite of the 3. I'd rather not have stun either, and personally, I'd like to see intimidate 2 moved to all the elite melee professions or give us intimidate 3 for our hard work grinding. Ok, there it is. Yet another reason to light up this post.

With the inclusion of a new weapon it'd be nice to see some new graphical effect. I'm tired of red streamers.

hmmm... how about gloves of fire... they could do heat damage and have a fire DoT....
This could be counted as a kind of flame

Well actually the Razor Kuncklers are suppose to do heat damage but apparently did too much damage. I saw one suggestion about Buzz Knucklers that did electrical (something from the extended universe stuff).
I think both of these would be great if balanced correctly so that PvP and PvE aren't unbalanced toward the TKA.
New streamers for them would be really cool too. A crackling effect on impact with the BK's would really be cool.
I don't think heat or electrical damage would effect PvP much since comp (the most common armor I see) has electrical as a special anyways and heat is often made a special due to other heat generating weapons. I'm not sure how PvE would be effected though. But as it stands there are numerous high level mobs that we just can't touch, and in fact have no hope of touching since they are 100% kinetic resist.
I've seen these debates before and the trick to it, I think, is to ask for reasonable damage types. Those asking for blast are reaching to high. Those asking for stun are just asking for the moon. TKM is too easy to get to and with a +250 damage mod that no other profession gets, it becomes way to easy to get serously out of balance. Stun knucklers would pwn PvP and PvE so bad it would be sick and we'd be sure to be nerfed back in the stone age. Blast woudn't pwn quite so bad but we'd still likely raise the ire of the nerf gods.
