Thread: Question about support skills: Scout vs. Medic

As stated, I'm looking for feedback to help decide whether I want to invest in Scout or Medic skills for high level hunting on the adventure planets, namely Dathomir. I'm currently TKM, novice (unlevelled) swordsman, and master Brawler with some merchant that I can't give up at this point in time.
I really like terrain negotiation, and feel that since I have no true ranged options I must stay on top of a mob and not let it get away, and being able to move up a steep incline at more than a crawl is important. I'm looking at investing up to Exploration 3, because that's the only bonus to TN short of master and mask scent short of the ranger levels (and maybe even then) is far to unreliable to be worth the skill points. Dathomir is very rugged. I would have novice medic for stim b.
As for the medic route, I was considering investing in FA 3 and Diag 2, to be able to belt out some worthwhile heals...healing 250 with my nice Stim Bs while tanking several mobs can be frustrating. However, what's holding me back is the fact that I finally have a decent set of pve comp (80/50ish kinetic) and damage just doesn't seem to stick...and when I'm buffed, well, there is no damage really. But then, I've never hunted rancors or nightsisters on my own and don't know what to expect. I did tank a dark jedi knight (of the 90% resists variety) in MO on dant and she pretty much didn't so much as scratch me.
BE clothing is obviously another option I need to take into consideration...but I don't want to crunch numbers, I just wanna play a game.
Thoughts, opinions, advice etc. are welcome.

I don't have scout and I have no problems in PvE with it at all. By taking an angled path up a hill you walk faster that just running straight up it. With a little practice you can make it up even the steepest hills almost as fast as with terrain negotiation.
So if its between scout and medic, go medic.

having mastered 28 professions i would say go medic 0030 if u have too.
novice medic can use decent stim b's on my server.
personally i just leave my bike out if i need to chase something or attack the nest and it comes back after a 100m warp.

Medic 0030 to use bigger stim packs? Interesting, I hadn't even thought of that. Doh.
I also leave my bike out in case I need to beat a hasty retreat but lately it likes to store itself just when I need it most.

yeah for stim c use I used to only use b but with buffs the b's were too slow for me

By the end of today i'm going to be a TKM, 3443 wiht less then 50k to go each box, and a master medic once i get the extra app. I would say i love the ablilty to use stim D's on my self when my HAM gets low. I know its not leaving many pts for all the templets people are using now adays. but i dont care, I'm not playing to be able to go around and kill everyone that duels me. I do also have novice scout and 2000 for the mask scent and little TN that helps.
