With the new stun armor and psg's i would say it is not worth it to become a fencer if you have decent stun armor at 40% resits and a sliced psg a fencer can really do little damage to you.

I've been a little frustrated with Fencer lately since I sold my really nice baton. Even with the baton my inability to focus on mind drove me batty.

I've been a tka doc before. I did great with it, but on paper, the defenses and dodge with master fencer seem really good.

I don't remember the difference in toughness between the two classes. I remember hearing Fencers beat tka's in every scenario, but I sure haven't found that to be true lately.

Anyway, I'll be keeping 4340 Doc and am trying to decide whether to make TKA my main, or Fencer.

Knowing about the doc portion, let me hear your thoughts on tka versus fencer. Thanks.

Stun armor isn't new.

What's new is that they fixed scatter hit so that it is no longer bugged and doesn't go through defenses the way it used to.

Anyways, to choose between fencer and doc, ask yourself this question...

Do I want to avoid states altogether, but not be able to deal with them once they land on me?

or...

Do I want to make myself vulnerable to states, but have the power to remove them?

Myself, I find it's too much for me to handle to be trying to fight someone, keep states on them, and keep healing myself. Instead I became a defense-stacking turtle. That's just my playstyle though.

that's not what he asked, he asked if he should be fencer doc or tka doc, so either way he'll have the ability to remove states.

To the original poster I am the same template you are MFencer 4340 doc and the inability to deal any damage to a well prepared opponent except with my DOT fencer weapons is driving me insane, thus I'm dropping fencer. Given the choice at this point in the game I'd choose tka doc, but I'm going to try something else entirely.

Bah, misread the question.

I know it doesnt do much for defenses or the ability to heal states, but Im a TKM / 4/4/0/4 CM. Seems to work just fine for me...

I've done both TKA and Fencer in combination with 4440 Doc

What I found is this:

TKA/Doc is better in most situations, particuarly PVE as long as you're not against a 100% kinetic resist mob.

Fencer/Doc is great at avoiding getting hit, but they just dont do very good damage unless you're a PVP fanatic.

I got sick of not doing decent damagePVE with the fencer template and went back to TKA.

Keep in mind, I did this because my template is meant for PVE.

Personally, I hate PVP.

in pvp fencers or not a treat anymore except if they have at least 300+ max damage battons
