Thread: The Grind Observations of Vegitaa Gaiden TKM/DOC/FS

I'll start off by saying the new FS "quest.." system isn't what i thought it would be either, however i believe that isn't something that belongs in this forum. they have something like that in the jedi forum. I will say though that the way you are doing it is NOT the fastest way to grind xp, i made a post about it.. huurton stalker missions, or the merc room in the geo caves will get you there alot faster, i can max out 2h xp, unarmed xp and get 180k combat xp in ONE buff session.
Well, I am maxxing my unarmed in a single session as well as my Doc exp. Also this is not just a "rant" about FS questing. More to the point, I'm posting that as a TKM I've run out of "fun" things to do right now. I try to go on weekly trips to DWB with a good group on Ahazi. So I haven't just thrown up my hands and said this game sucks.
I would just like to see something for us to do besides the FS quests now. I know, I know, it's coming. GCW revamp, JTL, combat balance.. etc...
For now though, those of us who have been on for a longtime have completed most everything else. I don't wanna bash or flame on anyone. I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out what we all already know.
Stop grinding, start playing, ignore the XP, and have fun. You'll be surprised at just how quickly XP comes when you stop watching it... its only a grind because thats how people choose to play it.

I have "played" the game since launch. I never went out of my way for Jedi, Holo's or anything else. Reread what I'm saying.
Completed every Themepark, 75 badges, 7 prof's, PA Hall for 9 months, helped build a player city, massive amounts of loot in my limited storage space, 7 player events held to date, 3 Corvette badges, and weekly trips to Deathwatch.
I have Played, and will continue to do so. My issue is... what do I do between now and JTL if I don't want FS at all?
Sure, I'll make it through the 6 trees that I want eventually. So I don't care how long that takes. The reason I posted here is because I believe there's plenty of Teras Kasi Masters in the same boat as me. Been around for awhile and have no interest in becoming Jedi. Sure, we may pick-up some FS to enhance ourselves but otherwise not going on to Jedi.
I only grind once or twice a week and it's for the money not so much the exp. But what else is there to do? Patiently wait for more content.... fine, I'll wait, but why logon between now and the time the content is finally released? To what end?
I'll be rich when JTL launches, big deal. I love SWG, I just feel that until we get JTL, Combat Revamp, and GCW revamp we're in a holding pattern.
ahh.. ok i did missunderstand what you were saying.
how about becoming a Jedi killing machine ?
I 100% agree with you that weremissing content, and even worse, SOE ENCOURAGES perceptions, attitudes and actions that deliberately stop players from creating content. Its very sad. I've had a great time lately interacting with newbies in Mos Eisley, educating them and roleplaying etc etc.
- I've never seen a live event... couldn't they do more of these more often?
- Darth Vader and other Iconic figures need to do something, get involved.
- Instead of Uber content dungeons and rare loots, how about new themeparks and new craftable items given to those professions.
- Make faction armour craftable already, make it competitive at least. Bring Star Wars to SWG.
- Player cities are ghost towns since the holo-grind, help get them revitalized.
- Fix the bugs since launch (where's my D$%N Imperial Cap?)
- Take care of some of these little things soon, you'd be surprised the difference it makes.
- Give Entertainers some new songs/dances. If I hear StarWars2 one more time I swear....
I don't want to flame and bash the Dev's the community can help change things too, unfortunately organizing player events is harder than getting kids to go to the dentist.
As Jester would say, "I live in and love this game, though bugs frustrate me, players give me both headaches and good times, it has become a part of my daily life. "
Yeah could be wonderful if famous NPCs come and go on killing spree. CSR and SOE crews could probably use massive fun to relax over the weekends. (Of course in designated area only. No mass killing in Theed or something.)
Or CSR/SOE can stroll around giving people strange missions. For example, hunt and kill another CSR or SOE crew. Why not!? Customers vs. Employees PvP. (No GOD mode) For winning, you get more PvP rating or something. Oh come on, CSR/SOE bosses, your employee can have some "legit" fun.
Or Galaxy-wide CSR/SOE hosted tornaments. Of course, you gotta have "classes." No-Armor-No-Buff, Buff-No-Armor, Fully-Armed-To-Teeth, Heavy-Weapons-Only, Mounted-Fight, Bounty-Hunter-ShowDown, Swoop-Racing (with PC competitors), No-Low-Blow (no KD lol!) etc etc.
Q
P.S. I do some grinding, but occassionally go on shopping sprees. I am a TKM so I go shopping for clothes and drinks and chatter with shop-keeps. (I suppose I am absolutely no hurry to be an jedi. I mean seriously, I wouldn't want to be caught with that rugged dirty robes. Yeah I want to petition for better jedi outfits.
