It is hard to share tips in here. In fact it seems every tip that has been shared has been "fixed" shortly after sharing. (and peeps think the devs aren't reading these boards)

I wish I had a helpful hint, but I fear the best options are to grind, grind, grind or get a friend to PL you. Or maybe just take it slow and strive for the most enjoyment you can get out of it. Oft times the journey is more rewarding than getting there.

And YES you do get better. But in this ever-changing world in which we play, it may not be in the way you expect. I have been frustrated a few times upon logging in and finding my careful strategy of yesterday is no longer viable in the battles of today. I strive to have fun, and manage it often, but I often feel that I am being forced into a mold of what others think I should be. And, despite my signature, I am no longer a Master Scout or a Master Artisan as I have started raping those skills for points in Medic and CH. D'oh! now I am getting negative...

Good luck!

Having Medic skills is very helpful, that way you don't have to keep going back to town.

Make sure you're killing everything you cross paths with that cons blue to you, especially creatures who will aggressively attack you once you attack only one of them (like capper spineflaps); then just use your unarmed spin attack a couple times and you've earned yourself 300-400 xp totalin just a couple seconds.

It takes awhile to get to Novice, but once you get there and get some decent Vibros, you'll be amazed at how strong you are. All you have to do is throw on berserk and you can take out things that con yellow to you in a matter of seconds (assuming they don't intimidate you, blind you, etc).

It's worth it, just keep going.

Lose. It's spelled LOSE. You don't "loose" in battle; you l-o-s-e.

Massive genocide of gnorts .... =P

Anyway, I would suggest fighting humaniods ( things on 2 feet) and lunge / unarm hit ... If you want to take the extra time , get One hand Sword 3 ( Dizzy attack) then use unarm lunge so it falls down..

or you can kill gnorts .. a lot of gnorts ..

Chups i'm hurt you didn't post on our board (less there are two of ya.... <shivers>

As for "getting to novice" since its all i've managed to accomplish i can tell you that it really blew when they took the knucklers away from us... by that time I was over halfway to novice TK tho so that helped a bit. IF i was you - get you a cdef (something that doesn't one shot you goober....) and attack it once... then unarm the rifle and beat the snot out of it. Beserk helps on account it does more dmg, and that one guy was serious about medic. It helps only having to stim-d myself once straight back into fighting trim if my HAM starts to get low. Either way its a long road... i've been novice for over a week now w/ no boxes.... and not to worried about it... I just keep PLAYING the game =) <grin>

Another thing that helped me get there..

When you come across a nest of baddies that give you good XP. DONT kill the nest till you have bled out every last mob. When you have killed all the creatures go hit the nest a few times and then "Peace" it. Some more animals will come out to defend the nest and you can kill many more. Keep doing this until no more animals come out and THEN kill the next. You will always get a nice suprise. The more creatures you killed.. makes for MORE xp when you finally kill the nest.

let me start of by giving the facts: im working on novice tka right now (wookie if that matters) and am having a heck of a time getting the points required for the novice bub. ive been reading these forums for weeks now and have tried many of the tricks listed with little or no luck, let me list them to avoid wasting anyones time by posting something ive tried....

1. tried the trick with the swoops, always end up getting my kills stolen, in fairness because im afk alot of the time. but still if i was gonna sit there, id just fight harder stuff.

2. tried to use vks even without cert, helped a bit but really didnt seem to make a big difference.

3. tried picking up a gun skill to componsate (oh it componsated alright, now i either kill stuff in one hit with my rifle, or beat on it pointlessly with my fists)

4. tried using powerlevelling techniques: i happen to have a friend who is a doctor, and that seems to be the way to go, but i hate having to inconvience him like that...he is a rl friend and id like to keep it that way

so ive gotten about 70k exp so far, but it still seems like a long hard road to novice...so aside from tips (which i would be eternally gratefull for) im also sorta wondering if, like rifleman, you get alot better once you get in to tka. i mean is it worth it to get to master...im not really a powergamer so i dont want to be the best, just to have a fun class that can compete...it sorta irks me everytime i have to use mindshot 1

thanks in advance

Chupa
