Thread: Does anyone know why TK's will not be getting stances soon unless a SL puts them into one?
On our top 5 issues we asked...
6). Stances - The addition of stances to effect combat. Agressive, Passive, and Balanced would be three examples.
SOE replied...
"We tried very hard to get these going with beta. It didn't work out to our satisfaction so it was dropped."
In the developers response to SL, they had the following abilities added..
-OffensiveStance:
Gives the group a temporary bonus to damage. The bigger the group the better the bonus, lowers defense.
-DefensiveStance:
Gives the group a temp bonus to defense. The bigger the group the better the bonus, lowers damage.
(i.e. Assign your tanks to "Front Line" and enqueue DefensiveStance on the front line group, then assign the ranged guys to "Ranged" and enqueue OffensiveStance on that group, etc.)
I am both a SL and a TK. I like the concept of stances for TK's. It balances out the abilities that the range classes get with the /kneel and /prone stances and they can be a lot of fun. I am not so keen on being dependent on a SL to determine if and when I am in one of these stances.
I am also not sure why the developers say it was not doable for a TK alone, but now it appears like its doable for an entire group. Can anyone explain this for me? ![]()
Squad Leader abilities are simply misworded. They aren't getting stances in the martial arts sense. Their 'stances' are actually the equivalent of 'formations' and 'combat tactics'. Although the net effect may end up being the same as what we'd like to have(except that theirs affect the entire group the lead). Hopefully they'll reword it accordingly.
