Thread: What should I take first? Power or Balance?
I have enough XP to take either Intermediate Balance Conditioning or Intermediate Power Techniques.
The first gives me Knockdown1, but the second gives me Dizzy1, plus a speed and damage bonus.
Alot ofpeople will prolly tell you to go with Power I first, but if I had to do it all over again I would have started with Balance I and then went power all the way to IV. Knockdown is pretty nice sometimes. On the other hand if they are going to nerf KD yet again then KD might not be as worthy an investment.
You could go ahead and do Power I to get dizzy + lunge capability. But again that may not work well for much longer and, corect me if i'm wrong, ive only noticed Dizzy+Lunge working on humanoids.
If you plan on PvPing or hunting alot of humanoid type mobs go with Power. If you plan to mostly grind exp on animals go with Balance.. i guess..
Also from the noh dojo tests in beta, I saw that from a powerleveling standpoint you see better xp return raising them as they come. Reason? Most the time you are going to be grouping against harder mobs for xp. Harder mobs have an xp cap based on your character "con level". Your character con level goes up by how many skill boxes you have. Thus the faster you can get a new skill box (like doing advanced meditation instead of expert power) the faster you will gain experiance.
The debate goes both ways though, theres also the argument of more damage more xp. I can't argue with that with the current way release is now. But in beta we were almost always hunting deep reds (almost all endor hunting from tka novice on) and we were hitting XP cap on nearly every kill, so it made sense to raise that cap. And I still see myself earning more experiance per kill occasionaly with my 2332 tka over the 0442 tka's, and I have less downtime =)
I'd go up balance first. Both for the KDs and the Defenses.
Good luck!
I would do the following:
1. Balance 1 (for knockdown)
2. Power 1,2,3,4 (increase speed and damage)
3. Balance 2,3,4 (knockdown 2 and defenses)
4. Meditation 1,2,3,4
Keep in mind Precision is combat xp so you you'll just get it as you go.
There is basically three main styles of fighting.
#1 - Bezerk and then hope you kill them first
#2 - Knockdown then about 6 or 7 regular hits, then KD again...
#3 - Dizzy, then Lunge, then a bunch of regular hits .. again ...
I did style #1 till i got Knockdown. I've done style #2 since them.

I think there is a 4th way of fighting
#4 - No special moves and use doctor buffs/stims
This is my style of fighting, and for me its works. I took a non-melee approach to this style and am loving it.
Health and Action were lowered to 800 each
all 4 subs were lowered to min for lizard race.
Mind raised to 1000
Focus and willpower raised to 500 and 600
I wear a composite helm to reduce any headshots I take.
Now being a doctor I can raise my health and action by upwards of 1600 each at anytime, as well I use con and sta packs to raise my regen stats which help during combat to slow my need for heals down.
I use stim D's for healing and have those land for alot. I usually heal when i'm down to 1/3 of my bar as these are bugged and only show my health moving under 1000 which is where my mind bar stops <sigh>.
