Well after playing three weeks with the /lfg tag on I have decided to give up. Not one group. Nothing. /LFG is useless. I have considered why. I played a Teras Kasi. After getting killed by rogue CorSec spawns the simply just run away a shoot me until I am dead. I cannot catch them very quickly, if at all (though getting repeated out of range messages and not being able to swing while runningafter anaccurate NPC that can shoot backwards while running seems a bit unbalanced) The spawn rate is such that I have to run away or die. So a spawn that gave me 110 points unarmed xp will kill me with ease. So no groups to support and no chance to effectively solo. Though considering how ineffective I was against ranged spawns I can understand why no one wanted me in group. Guess it is time to delete this char and try something that has a chance to survive low level spawn. And I understand they are going to nerf TKA again. Actually I am just frustrated playing "Solo Wars". I like the TK. But it is frustrating, not fun. I had hoped for something more social and more balanced. I will probably try to solo this char some more, but the level 14 missions I must take always have to be against animal lairs or I am cooked.

Sure, I can buy new armor and learn to make the "armor macro" but I have a problem with unrealistic hit/ don armor/ take hit game play. I can understand making a powerful profession unsolo-able to encourage grouping, but I am not having any luck grouping. I have to admit I dislike begging for 45 minutes to try to get into a group so I /announce a couple of times, get a couple of missions do the missions and ask around. The /lfg tag has proven worthless.

This is a rant. I will either get over this frustration, or I will delete my characters and close my account. Just like I did in EQ.

As far as taking out kiting npcs, lunge works well, but make sure to take off your knucklers so you don't incap yourself.

As far as grouping we sadly have little to offer. CH pets are farmore capabletanks then we are, and we don't have any real special abilities that ranged classes can't already do better. Intimidate and Warcry are our only keepsakes, but between their cost and failure rate they're not that wonderful. This would leave damage dealing as our department, but we don't excel there either.

Suffice it to say we're good for medic xp and thats about it.

First of all, join a PA if you haven't.

Be proactive about getting groups together from your PA. Medics should look forward to grouping with melee types because it is a guaranteed source of continuous medic exp. If you sit back with the LFG flag on expecting people to come to you, you are wasting your time.

Your ranged issues are easy to solve when it comes to PVE. Lunge is your single greatest attack against ranged mobs. Rarely do they get a chance to kite me. If I know a ranged mob is too far away for me to catch, I use the terrain to my advantage. Run from the mob and find the nearest tree, for example, and stand behind it. This will force the mob AI into melee mode and it will come chasing after YOU instead. If you can't find a tree, a house, personal harvestor....just about any persistent world object with collision detection will work...meaning things like dynamically generated forts for rebel/imperial kill missions dont work..ranged mobs not only shoot right thru those walls but run thru em too despite the fact that these rules don't apply to you

The only exception to this I have seen is doing kill missions for the rebellion.

Just curious as I think your angst may be misplaced. I don't use /lfg, but have little trouble finding groups as a gimp TKA.

I am more curious if the "Role-Player" tag gets more or less attention.

Its funny how little Role-Playing goes on in an online RPG. Heh. And its hard for me to keep RPing my character when I am in a cantina full of college students talking about their Majors and how difficult it is.

Oh well, at least its entertaining!

- Actually I had someone contact me specifically because I had the Role Player flag enabled.

Maybe the entertainers are roleplaying... Its well known that most dancers in seedy bars are just paying their way through college

I'm just being difficult. If there are others around I try to roleplay a little.. I dont feel i'm very good at it but for the most part if no one else is i dont bother.

Another TKA and myself often group together. It is much fun

Anyone ever want to group, I'm always up for it!
