Ok, for the first 2 months of this game i shut out the rest of the universe (while i was ingame people ) and trained almost non stop in the Teras Kasi arts and eventually i became a Teras Kasi Master

I now play PvP becuase my training is complete...I am also a master Creature Handler and i have now won 2 out of 15 battles with other PvP people. Most of these people do NOT have powerful pets like i do, and are not very high up in their gun skills...yet i loose, EVERY time. (the time i won was when the guy didnt see my pet, and by then it was too late, good little gurreck )

I need some advice from other Teras Kasi Masters out there...im close to dropping Teras Kasi altogether as it does me absolutely NO good in PvP. It is wonderful in PvE, and i REALLY enjoy it, however i also want to be able to participate effectively in the GCW.

I have enough skill points that i can surrender some in CH and work my way up novice marksman in the carbine tree and even get high enough in the carbineer tree to get a distance KD, a freind suggested i do this to get my oponent down long enough for me to catch him and show him the power of a TKM.

Him and i tested this in a dual, he is a pikeman and has a posture change...and he was able to catch me effectively enough while i kited him.

Can some of you TKM's please tell me if you enjoy PvP and if you even use your teras kasi skills in PvP and if you do what are some of your strategies?

Right now when i fight someone i drink a tatooine sunburn, (more strength, more stamina and lower ham costs) hit follow and burst run and try to use unarmed lunge until i can get them down, however, when im being kited im also being forced to change poster...so ya Anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks

hmmm, ok. Good suggestion except for when he starts to follow its a very hard strategy to make work when your out in the wilderness i know, ive tried it a few times

Are there advantages to this skill rather than action shot? (becuase im thinking about going up the carbine skill tree and i dont have a lot of sp left )

also, most of these battles start with them attacking me from far away, heh, if i got the first shot id win everytime

thanks

My friend's TK masterand I'm pistoleer. Of course everyone fighting a TK tries to kite. But when we hit the Imps I use suppression fire. Once their on their knees the TK master gets his VKs on him and it's over. I can deal damage but in this role I'm satisfied with supporting the TK. With my ranger rescue I can also rescue my friend if someone's firing at him. Instead of taking all the damage I'll seek cover when I do this. It only lasts a couple seconds before they reacquire him but when there's a few different people and animals on our side it becomes harder for them to switch. They target me even if they can't hit me when I use rescue and in the heat of it a lot of times people don't even realize they've switched targets and are doing no damage.

Soloing against ranged attackers as a TK is nigh impossible but if you have someone with you who can help with suppresion fire, bleeds, KD, etc.,ass-kicking quotient goes up dramatically. I don't know how people feel about being dropped to their knees as they're fleeing a TK master but I'm sure it's not a good feeling.

I'm a TKA ( 2 1 3 2) with medic ( 4 4 4 3) , when I PvP i use dizzy and lunge combo and heal with my Stim Cs ( full heal since I fixed my stats to 800 H 550 STR 500CON 800 A 550 QUI 500STAM 900 M 550 FOC 550 WillPwr).

Always try to sneak up on the target, since we are melee we need the element of surprise to get dizzy and lunge off.. I usually go in catina med center or sneak around buildings...

Only use knockdown if it is an emergancy , cost way to much HAM to be using in pvp.

I guess you just need medic skills to survive, your big ugly pet wont save you from blaster fire or someone punching you in the face

If you're being kited by a marksman type class, dont play his game. Run the oppisite way and find cover ( any buildings work) or play his game and use a ranged weapon as well, I suggest getting Ranged Support IV for Suppression fire, which is a ranged posture change. Very useful if you get the dizzy on but couldnt get the lunge.

I am almost a TKA master, a master CH, and rest medic.

I have never lost 1 on 1, 2 on 1, and I have beaten 3 on 1. I have beaten 2 that jumped me while loading. Ive beaten CHs with pre-nerf pets(of which I have none). etc etc.

I have beaten all classes. I have beaten imps with ATSTs out and faction pets. (I love killing off their pets afterward too, too bad all I can do is admire the ATST).

I will not give out my strategy. I do not cheat. I do not use a gun.

If you are losing, its your skill not the class. Maybe your keyboard is set up wrong. Maybe you have video lag.You most likelydo not understand how to fully use your skills. You most likely have skills that do not help in PVP.

Some things you need to realize when pvping. A character with 3 combat classes WILL have an advantage over a TKA/Artisan/Entertainer for example. Get better gear. Try soloing more. Only a person who solos a lot, where all they can rely on is themself, will gain a greater understanding of what his avatar can really do.

Attitude is also a big deal. If your first reaction isnt to kill, then you are already heading down the losing path. Reflexes are important too. You must be good with your keyboard. A poorly set up keyboard will prevent you from being good.

I know ive been vague, but i will only help rebels on kettemoor.

I walked away with killing the 3 smack talkers! BTW that was a pretty ATST, nice and shiny,

Hate to break it to you, but TKA's are at a disadvantage in PvP(Regardless of what anyone wants to say).

UALunge=Suppression fire minus the range
UAKD=UnderhandShot/Fire Knockdown/Etc. minus the range

And a good pistol-user will match our damage. Fact of the matter is, if you're a TKA don't expect to win every duel. It's very possible for us to win, but it's an uphill fight. Best bet you have is, like other people said, to lunge and then close the distance.

Better yet, pick up pistol, rifle, whatever. They're all much more combat effective, even in duels.

Please nerf TKA's! I just one hit incap'd myself again with knockdown!

One thing I hated about TKA (2-3-4-3) was that I would look around at different marksman during a rebel raid, and all the marksmen (both imp and reb) are OWNING any melee defenders. I see something wrong with this. Melee is totally stunted in p v p, hence the reason I gave up TKA and moved on to bigger and better things!

Seriously we are not off that bad i even have posts under best ahazi pvper about me (claim to fame). We TKrs just need to be smart i still barely loose duels because of the almighty novice brawler skill lol. Find cover in a building if they are 5m away they are toast plain and simple CMs seem to hurt me but im a chef also, kinda gimpy, but i can make foods where i regen so fast i can barely see damage from Kds.

Play smart let them come to you then crush.

Note: Play smart, and we are far from tanks remember that think of TKs as finesse

Have i said it enough, Play smart

Thank you everyone for your advice, i greatly appriciate it.

Even from those of you who are being very general about your information. Whats important is that there ARE Teras Kasi Masters succeeding in pvp. Quite frankly this excites me and gives me new goals...figuring out HOW they do it and what strategies of mine are incorrect.

I am not a person who gives up, IF i dont have to. In my book it is ALWAYS the last resort.

I do have one question that maybe someone can answer...is there anyway to get around getting to an oponent while he/she uses posture changing shots?

I seem to run into this a lot, off i go charging an enemy and i get "youve been forced to kneeling" over and over while they run away...is there a better way to get around this as they run away besides hitting stand over and over?

Thanks...always a Teras Kasi

Hey Udun where is this post of Ahazi best pvp?

I'm thinking of going rifle/TKA on Bria now was thinking rifle/swords but the meditate line would be so usefull for a rifleman I think.
