Ok so I have been a TKA for a few weeks now and I'm currently at 2-1-1-1 I was wondering what people generally think is better in terms of should I go for meditaion first or power or balance ? I know precision goes up on a different type of experience so I'm quite happy with that going up slowly. my current thoughts are to get meditaion first to heal my wounds so I can stay out for longer periods, then on to power so I can take down larger targets and finally balance. since there doesnt seem to be that much benifit to balance ?
thanks in advance....

I'd do power first. You can have someone else to heal your wounds, but no one can speed you up.
Killing faster means getting XP faster, which makes the grind easier.
Also, with doc buffs, wounds are not that important unless you're fighting big guys.
Against quenkers or stalkers, don't worry about the wounds.

Nope, do power first.
Then I would finish meditation.
Since you have been TK for a while, do you have any armor? If you have any kinetic above 50%, then go to Dantooine Mining Outpost, and ask if you can joina solo group. Get buffs, and get some missions in the same direction, the ones that pay around 8k. As you get stronger, go for harder missions.
BTW, TK can be mastered in 9 hours or less this way.
Good luck!

Yeah I went power first then balance. Along the way you usually get another box of Precision with the 4th box ineach branch. I say take your time though. Once you hit master you're going to wish you still had a real reason to grind.

Just adding my two cents: I had a ton of combat xp after mastering the pistoleer profession and BH professions. I dropped BH, and applied all the combat xp to TKA. Made a difference..
Anyways, back to your question, I'd second (or third, or fourth) going for power first. I actually took power up to the third box, and then got a couple of balance boxes. I did meditate last. Usually, I hunt in a good set of armor with great buffs, so the need to meditate to heal wounds and such wasn't great.

Power is definately the one you want to get through first, although I took Balance 1 just to get the first melee mitigation after Power 3. Power gives you all your attack speed and damage and lets you go through the rest of the trees faster.
I've been doingan hour or twoa night for the past week or so and I'm already 1/1/4/1 (77% Ubese, no buffs). Been doing quenker missions out of Dant, and taking on the occaisional non-mission spawn.
Non-mission lairs rock for experience, more spawns and the final lair destruction gives more XP than a mission one.

I've done TKA with a number of characters and tried different paths. The one I've found most successful is to first go up the power tree until you get to 0 0 3 x.
My most successful progression has been:
0 0 3 x
01 3 x
1 1 3 x
1 2 3 x
2 2 3 x
3 2 3 x
3 2 4 x
3 3 4 x
3 4 4 x
4 4 4 x
by that time (x) should also be at 4 and you'll be ready for master.

Oooo interesting. Care to explain the rationale behind this? (That's not sarcastic, I'm at 0021 and genuinely curious).

damage, speed and special attacks are your most powerful allies.
speed caps at 1.0 seconds, so once you get to 0030, with a good speed VK you can cap there. The damage bonus at power IV isn't that powerful
second, your specials: a good KD is hard to beat. so that's something you'll want right away, if only for controlling the mobs by putting them down on the ground.
I did it like this
0042 - I did speed first and had leftover combat XP from other profs.
2143- Getting rid of poisons/disease is nice, but the dizzy is good
2443- Dizzy + KD is a must for high-end NPC and PvP killing.
4444- mediation was the last line I did. I have novice medic so the wounds could always be healed post-battle.

Agreed. I think the progression for a doc/tk is very different than progression for a non-medic tk. Being 2341 doc at the moment, I'm not overly concerned about meditate.

Not exactly sure what happened to me, but I ended up needing 10k of combat experience after going through the other 3 trees (first combat profession, so I didn't spend the combat XP on any other boxes). I guess it was just rounding errors on the combat XP.
Anyway, mastered lastnight...and my progression was:
- Power 1-3
- Balance 1
- Power 4
- Mystic 1-4
- Balance 2-4
- Then the last bit of combat XP to get Striking 4
- Master
