On one encounter...

Esidetcho Aga (a Singing Mountain clan rancor tamer) uses concealed shot on you for 4104 points of damage!
Your Composite Armor Pants armor prevented 3079 points of damage.

Hmm... ...1025 points of damage. My health is only 1075. On this particular encounter, I had feigned death just before he shot me and I got away!

On another encounter...

A canyon krayt dragon hits you for 1952 points of damage.
You're stunned.
Your Composite Armor Chest Plate armor prevented 1464 points of damage.

Which means I only got hit for 488 points of actual damage. I wasn't wearing a helmet at the time. Had it hit me in the head... ...well, you get the idea. Fortunately, the Krayt broke off the attack after the first hit.

I'm going to have to get me some of that Composite armour. I use full Chitin.

You can get the protection from most armor. Composite isn't the only good armor its just the heaviest.

Yes. You are right. The armor will protect you from damage. But you HAM regen gets JACKED by the armor. Your personal regen rate will be so slow, that you will NEED to use stims to heal yourself, which uses mind. This is unless you have a Doctor buffing you. If that was the case, Id say go full armor all the way. If im by myself, in a small group with no medic, I go no armor. When a medic/Doc joins thats when I go armored, and not before..

Just put your armor on one macro and your civies on another. Armor up at the beggining of battle, and civies at the end so you can regen.

I'm planning on doing that, getting marine leggins, boots, gloves and a helmet and make a macro to toggle the armor. Do helmets make a big difference defending your mind? Or do they lower the HAM so much that it's just not ever worth it?

What good is HAM regen going to do you if you're dead? In both of the encounters I mentioned, it wouldn't have mattered how fast I regenerated my HAM if they were both shot to zero in one hit. Yes, HAM regen is poor while wearing armor. In between fights, I take off my armor with one keystroke, heal / regen / whatever, then it goes back on.

The protection levels on the Composite Pants and Chestplate I was wearing during both these encounters is 64% across the board, including Kinetic. I haven't seen Ubese get that high.

How do you put switching armor sets on a macro? that would be nice to use. Thanks in advance...

In your action toolbar 6 put each piece of armour in a separate slot.

Write the following macro:

/ui action toolbarPane05;
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
/ui action toolbarSlot01;
.
.
.
/ui action toolbarSlot10;
/ui action toolbarPane00;

Put that macro on your main toolbar (1), the toolbarSlot's start at 00 through to 23, just repeat the commands until you can get all your armour on.

Then when youhit the macro button, in my case Shift-F11, I fully equip my composite (47% prot on all, helmet 52%), with the speed of a standard attack, I hit once per second, and save a decent amount of damage.

Specials hurt a lot, and regen is basically non existent. So I have a second macro that swaps out my armour for normal clothes. This then gives me my regen back.

Not a TKA Master, but working on it

Hope that helps.

i thought adv chitin had the best kenetic armor, heavier than ubese but nothing a slicer can't fix. Much cheaper too.

All right, but apart from the sanitation droids, bionic limbs, hyper-drive, moisture vaporators, galactic order, abolisment of slavery, star charts, the compact and efficient central government and interplanetary free trade, what has the Empire ever done?"
