Thread: TKA and PVP...just how bad is it?

Let me just say that I am a novice TKA with one box of power and one of precision. I have done PvP before and always had by butt handed to me (normally by eye shot...argh). Well today I was out running missions when come faction pets from an opposing faction started attacking me....well I was out in the open so I burst ran my butt out of there...what I noticed was that the owner of the pets was following me....so I ran into a near by home (let me apologize in advance to the owner for the mess). When I got into the home I threw on my armor and prepared for a battle. When I targeted the evil PC...it was a master commando....oh boy I thought...this is going to be quick. Well I stood by the door and waited for him to come in...he stopped just before the door..as if to realize what was going on...healed up for the battle and ran in. Just as he ran in with VBKs equiped I dizzied him and then lunged him and then spamed unarmedHit2. I didn't think I had a chance against a master...but this time I was in luck. I was so proud....I PK'ed a Master Commando! I know we have issues with kiting....but as others have said...for TKA's (and other melee's)...it is all about tactics. Never go one on one in the open...and if you do....run indoors and take'm down as soon as they come in. I even got a compliment from the commando afterwards. I thought for sure I was dead...but a bit of tactical creativity gave me the edge I needed.

I did get PK'ed about 10 minutes later by a BH with eye shot (man that is getting really old)...but at least I had a moment of fun and victory (a rare PvP occurrencefor me).

I actually spend most of GvG time in the med center or somewhere else that i can close combat since that is really the only way i am able to really fight fairly. I just throw on my chef buffs and they have a hard time eyeshotting me when i have about 2400 mind. The only problem is that ppl get really upset when you pvp in the med center and i figure the cloner isnt much better but i still have a great time with it im not caught dead in the open. I "pull" players into the med center than KD +headshot spam, so incase of mutliple ppl you can incap em and they cant be healed, as to avoid revenge teffing.

On the same note different sub-topic. props to all the ppl that dont bitch or send hate tells

I'm a 0/0/4/2 TKA. And PvP has been blast for me! After stat migrating in order to raise my Mind score, I've found that I'm far more deadly than I used to be!

I've downed three Master Commandoes now, and a mid-level Bounty Hunter. And I don't even have Knockdown 1. I tend to use Unarmed Hit 2 and have just started using Unarmed Leg Hit 1. This kills my opponent's Action pool. Something Commandoes and Bounty Hunters rely on.

It's not that bad. Believe me. If we could have some sort of speed increase, we'd be quite deadly. Kiting tends to be the bane of our profession. Unarmed Lunge solves that somewhat, though I find it's not as effective as it needs to be.

My Unarmed Damage is +145. Which means that if I get up close with you, and keep you nearby for a few seconds, you're as good as dead.

I'm a Trandy TKM on bria. unarmed damage is the deliciously round number of 200. kiting is our weak point, and thats why i picked up a pistol to help reel people in. low blow and suppression fire can get a pc from moving and if timed right I can catch up from great distances. bleeding them as i catch up is pretty good too. and of course, once i get there they get a dizzy if they are still low or they get an unarmed hit 3 which will dish out major damage to anybody.

My sp have been used in the following...

TKM, Novice Medic (a MUST have), CH 4,4,0,4 and Carbineer 0,1,0,2 (for carbineer kd)

For me this is an excellent combo in PvP and in PvE. CH not only allows me to have a nice tank on my teams at all times but also gives me explore 4 which makes me fast on hills. As a Novice Medic I can use some dang good stimBs to heal myself in battle and with CH and Carbineer kd i rarely have problems with kiters My pets also help a lot against buffed enemies and faction / creature pets

A good friend of mine is a TKM, Master Doctor and he really likes it. The buffs and reses come in handy. and he does SICK damage in pvp. However its not super effective in pve.

Once you reach Teras Kasi Master PvP is a blast However make sure you have good ch, gun or medic skills becuase you will need them

Evetsleep,

That's beautiful man...just beautiful. Tactics are the name of the game...that Master Commando was dead as soon as he decided to cross that person's threshold into your "death zone" of 15m.

Good to hear stuff like this. The TK community needs to hear stories like this to help us understand that it's US that makes TK great...not the numbers...not uber mods and such...it's US and our tactics. Specials and damage are tools for our crafting. Let's build a better future for ourselves.

Encouraging. I was about to cash in all my TKA experience and start over. Thanks.
