Thread: Meditation -> HAM Regeneration in future?
Since the devs said they would be working on melee, (the Meditation tree was specifically mentioned for TKAs), does anyone know if there is any chance of the Meditation tree being changed to include HAM regeneration?
Just so you know, this is my problem with /tank. It's supposed to work like /bezerk, right? Fine. Let's walk through a little scenario here.
Scenario #1: I'm hunting with my friends, I'm tanking for the party. I use the /tank command. Cool. It fails. I get smoked. OK, no problem, I reclone and head back out. I catch up to the party. I use the /tank command. I use the /tank command. It fails again. I get smoked, (again). No problem, melee classes are used to this kind of thing.I reclone and head back out. I'm wary this time, but I try /tank again. It works! Awesome, I'm so happy now! We're fighting, everything is going great, my foe is down to half of it's HAM... /tank ends. Sweet. I wanted to go back to town anyway.... Or did I?
Scenario #2: I'm hunting with my friends, I'm not tanking for the party, because a CH is there and his lowest pet has more HAM than me, and it has Armor.
I know that opinions are like @ssholes and thateveryone has one. However, I'm still going to state mine. My opinion of the /tank command is that it is going to suck.
As a melee class, I would ask that instead of a /tank command, we receive a small movement increase while we are holding our chosen weapons. If that is a gamebreaker, I'm missing something.
As a TKA, I ask that Meditation regenerate HAM damage. It heals wounds, great. It's only logical that it heal damage. Again, maybe I'm missing something.
As a master brawler with 52% kinetic -- I tank just as good as most pets (actually better since I can taunt). Using intimidate2 I can can reduce damage by 60%. The only thing I found I can't tank is krayts. Kimos are not a problem and people are getting sick of seeing a dude with 2 graul maulers out.
trust me brawlers are getting better with the new armor being put out.
Battle Fatigue Healing Justification
We should heal battle fatigue when meditating because we are in a trance, we're soothing our soul and resting out body completely.. If we can heal our wounds and cure poisons/bleeds/diseases..we should heal battle fatigue also, we're meditating..
If anything battle fatigue is the one that makes the MOST sense.. Because you're resting..

Perhaps, but you'll still get kited to death by a novice marksman unless brawlers get some sort of movement increase.
I see where you are coming from about Battle Fatigue. However, where BF is concerned, the devs could be thinking, "music soothes the savage soul", or something like that from a roleplaying viewpoint. They also might have factored in BF to provide players with a reason to go to cantinas.
I would still like to see them add HAM regeneration bonuses to meditation. I think it only makes sense, they already know that the meditation tree is lacking. Wounds take more effort to heal than damage. The HAM regen should be fairly easy to add and it would not be gamebreaking, IMHO.
Well, I'll stop harassing everyone about this. Just wanted give my input on this.
Mana:
when im saying tanking im talking about PVE -
I may be "kited" in pvp - but then ill just pull out my pistol
. also I dont pvp solo, i hang with a combat medic and bounty hunter. we do quite well.

If something like this was added it would have to be at Master TKA only and probably regen at the same rate a novice entertainer would cure BF, otherwise you would get every other combat proffession getting the meditation line for this.
Ham regeneration I think would be a good addition, as we cannot do anything else while meditating, so dont see how this would be too powerful.
Eh.... I don't know about that one. While I hate Battle Fatigue, I don't really see how we could justify being able to heal it. The devs DID say they were looking at the Meditation tree though, so I was hoping that maybe, just maybe they would see that HAM regeneration should be a bonus of meditating. I don't know, I think with the damage increase that we already got, that if they would just give usHAM regen as part of the Med tree and a small movement increase to ALL MELEE CLASSES, we would be a balanced class, and the massive chasm between ranged and melee would shrink to a wide gap.
Yeah, I know. Bounty Hunters and anyone with a ranged knockdown would still rule us in the open, but at least we would have a chance of running down some little novice Marksman instead of being kited to death.
The other thing is,
Maybe I'm way off the mark here but I believe that we should push these 2 issues. As far as the /tank stuff, sorry, I'm not intrigued at all. Any Master of melee will never be able compete with high level CH pets for soaking up damage. IMHO, we shouldn't expect to. As a melee class, we need the movement increase. Code it so it only works when a Swordsman is holding a sword, a TKA is fighting unarmed, ect.
Please, if you agree with me, support this. If you don't agree with this and you have some time free, let me know why you disagree with this.

Oh you really have to be careful when you say things like this. Imagine logging on tomorrow and finding you can heal BF and nothing else because it makes the "most" sense. ![]()
And let's not aim to undercut the entertainers, they have little enough as it is.
Also I would like to see katas introduced to bring down BF if meditation isn't the way it goes. Katas are smooth fluid movements and while I believe it should be the factor that makes unarmed speed a factor, I would be open to it healing BF as well.
