Thread: Force of Will a waste, UH3 and Head Hit too expensive to be worth anything but PvP

how come Force of Will, a levle 4 meditation skill, is so **edit** worthless?

I mean lets see, it fails 80% of the time. The 20% of the time it DOES work, you "revive" with ZERO ham across the board, thus making you easy prey for whatever attacked you to begin with, within seconds.

So what exactly is the beenfit to this skill anyway?

On a second note - why is Unarmed Hit 3, our master attack skill, so expensive on the HAM compared to unarmed hit 2? I honestly thought Unarmed hit 3 was supposed to be 5 * normal damage, like in beta. It's not. It's about 4 * normal damage, and it costs over twice as much HAM as unarmed hit 2, which does 2.5 * normal damage. Now, if its a balancing issue, then fine, leave it at 4* normal damage - but please, drop the HAM costs by 40-50%.

So the only things I got, out of the 4 new skills/abilities I was supposed to get when I finished the mediatation tree and now TK Master I get only 2 worth anything - +40 damage and wicked wound healing.

Because Force of Will is useless as far as I can see, and Unarmed Hit 3 is way below balanced as far as costs and effectiveness.

UA3 is worth it with knucklers off, but still yeah I don't use UA3 in PVE anymore.

Force of Will has saved me a few times, I swear the failure rate has been upped since beta though. I think It should either keep it's current failure rate, and not drain HAM or Get a MUCH better failure rate, since most the time it just results in an incap death anyhow =/

I wish people that have problems with this profession, or any for that matter, would seek out a master that knows what they're doing instead of posting "my profession sucks" threads about something that's 90% user-error.

You justneed to experiment...you're on Tarquinas...search and ask around to find a TKM that's good at PvP. Ask their styles and techniques...share information and understanding and you will grow strong. If you continue whining and kicking against the pricks as it were, you'll never progress and remain chaff to be sifted.

I hope you do the former. Good Journey.

Unarmed3 with no armor or VK rocks, I use it in PVP especially for a quick 700ish damage and low ham hit, you need to adjust your Stats to reflect which fight style you use plain and simple.

Another note, if you are going to be serious in PVP you need to find a doctor, get buffed, pop some tat sunburn and have your shiz together, I have no problem at all in PVP, the last 3 times i've died was to an AT-ST while burst running like hell and a combat medic via mind poison. The third time was my fault I fell into a TEF trap, shoulda saw it coming but I was blood thirsty and got jumped by 2 peeps and their 2 pets. I use UA3 in PvE if i just feel like finishing it up fast, other than that just pop on your high damage VK's and tear somin up in no time flat using NO specials. I can't wait till the proposed .5 speed cap as we will be so deadly at PvE as a master.

All these complaints are solved by doctor buffs.

Lucky for my friends, I like to pvp, im a tka master and almost master doc.

I suggest finding someone like that, or joining a pa that is like that.

I agree 110%! Force of Will is awesome. It works 90% of the time for me. Sometimes my heal goes off late so I drop, hit Force of Will, pop up, heal myself and I'm off to kicking butt again. And Head hit is awesome in PvP. Hit what can't be healed. Duh.

**edit**, wish I got a 90% success rate on Force of Will I mainly use it for frustrating my opponents out of FPs.

I originated this thread, and I think some of you mis-read my commentary.

First off, I didn't say head hit was useless. I said it was useless for PvE. And it's awfully expensive, but my main beef wasn't with this skill.

You say Unarmed hit 3 with no VKs is great. But why use it when unarmed hit 2 with VKs is the same or more (in my case) damage, and marginally more HAM costs? It's not like using no VKs increases your attack speed any. I honestly don't see the point in not using VKs. My unarmed hit 2 does 1600-2100 damage range. My VK UA3 averages like 2600-3000 tops. Not sure why, but it's a fact.

Its completely unbalanced on the low side for UA3. Test it out yourself. I'm bringing up issues that unless you are blind legitimately exist. I am very disappointed with UA3, the HAM needs to be reduced, seriously to make it a viable PvE technique.

If I really wanted to gripe, I'd have included other worthless skills we have, like Unarmed Combos 1, or even better 2. Or 10 second power boost - unless they've fixed this recently.

I always hear a lot of people responding with well if you have a doctor buff you, or just pick up medic skills. Why should I have to get a doc to buff me up. Im already supposed to be "buff" arent I? I also shouldnt have to pick up medic just to be successful in combat. I'm not one of those people who whine about wanting to be a tank. However I shouldnt have to rely on other people or skills to do well.

Also I see absolutely no point in not using VK's. With UA hit 2 i can deal around 2k damage with my VK for about 100 HAM. Without my VK it doesnt do much more than my average damage for a not much lower cost.

Hehe, seems to me Force of Will would be an excellent skill... Say you're grouped with a smuggler, you run into something you know you can't take, it incaps you but doesn't DB you, then goes after your buddy... he runs away, gives you time to FoW and get up, you get up, run, he feigns, you both live and don't waste time cloning.

It seems to me that FOW works best when you use it immediately after being incaped. I recommend hotkeying it and using it as soon as you hit the dirt.

Head hit is not useless for PvP. In many situations, it's the only way to kill someone. Try fighting a master doctor/master-whatever-combat-prof. You simply won't kill them by targeting health or action. They can stim for too much, and have too much in H/A. KD2 + Head hit is just about the only way to do it.
