Thread: Player Event Invite: Friday Night Fights
Come and measure yourself against TKA's and non-TKA's (seperate division) from all around the galaxy in this Player Event. It will be taking place this Friday night at 9pm EST just outside of Naboo, Theed.
Currently have 6 registered the Heavyweight Division (TKA's). Looking for more combatants, especially non-TKA's. This event should be really fun, and you will walk away w/ new friends and maybe even some prizes and credits. Send any interest via IG /tells or email to yours truly, and I will take care of getting in touch w/ you.
If you are not interested in being a combatant or sponsorship, come anyway, and bring a friend, or 10 =)... there will be entertainment, refreshments, vendors and gambling. The works. Admission is free, but whether you spend, win, or lose money is up to you! Hope to see you there!
The coordinates are forthcoming (OOC: once i get home tonight).
Full details can be found on the following Starsider Player Events sticky post:

Friday Night Fights - final notes
Location: - 4195 3227, just outside of Theed Naboo.
Participation as a contestant no longer requires pre-registration.... this is now an open even where people can apply to fight up until the start of the event.
Due to time constraints, a website will not be ready with the contestant brackets prior to the event... instead, brackets will be done ad-hoc at the time of the event.
Betting will still be on a per contestant basis (e.g. you bet on Joe to win the TKA 1v1 - payout if he wins first, second, or third place), but brackets are no longer available to aid in betting
yours,
A couple of new items were brought to my attention...
1) There will beNO Dizzy or KD2 used in this competition, we want a fair fight, not a race to see who get's combo'd first. Any use of dizzy or KD2 will result in immediate event disqualification. This will be repeated to all contestants In-game before the event begins.
2) Remember that there will beNO buffs allowed. I realize there weresome complaints in player event similar to this one where buffs were also not allowed, and some people were not happy b/c they had their character set up so as to be dependent upon buffs. They ended up allowing buffs. In spite of potentially making some people unhappy, we simply wish to keep this event quick moving... we don't want super buffed players slugging it out for 5 minutes and we also don't want people getting caught up in trying to get buffed before the event starts, and perhaps getting cheated out of a buff, or having to forfeit the contest. So NO buffs. Buff usage will also result in event disqualification.
good luck to all
K
Friday Night Fights - Event Night
This event is still on for tonight, 9pm EST. A few last minutes details on how things will run tonight:
Event registration
- Please try arrive by at least 8:45 (15 minutes early)
- AVendor will be available at the door selling entry tickets for the TKA and non-TKA versions of the 1v1 and King of the Hill contests. Remember, TKA's may NOT apply for the non-TKA fights. The vendor will be closed once the event begins
- Once a ticket is bought, your name will be noted by one of the contest officials, who will then notify me.
- I will be drawing names from a hat (literally) to determine who matches up with who. If there is an odd number of contestants, a random person may get a bye. This may seem a bit off, but it's the only way to do a bracketed competition without contestants pre-registering.
- Please review all the contest rules in my previous posts. I will be announcing the more important ones again prior to the start of the event just to make sure the rules are clear.
- At the completion of the match, winners should stick around in order to collect their prize purse from me.
- The prize purse percentages are 60%/25%/10% for first, second, and third place finishes, respectively.
- If for some reason a winner cannot stick around, please send me an email and we can arrange a post-event meeting.
- Most of all have fun!
Sporsorship/Vending
- I can still set up vendors and accept sponsors at the time of the event, but try to arrive 30 minutes earlier so that it does not delay the event too long
- Remember that setting up a vendor involved coordinating permissions within the building, as well as setting up the appropriate advertisement and signs promoting your vendor
- Setting up sponsorship is also more than just donating money, as I will need to talk w/ your PA representatives about the PA and how I should be promoting it
Betting
- There will be 2-3 designated bookies taking bets at the start of each part of the event (this will be announced throughout the event
- The will be a vendor set up with a list of the registered contestants' names in it.
- Once you see who you'd like to bet on, simply send a /tell to one of the bookies and they will take your money and give you a ticket stub with the name of the contestant and the contest in which they are fighting in.
- Remember that you are betting on who will win each set of fights. In other words, there will be a TKA 1v1 winner, a non-TKA 1v1 winner, a TKA King of the Hill winner, and a non-TKA King of the Hill winner. Payouts are for top 3 finishers.
- Bets can be in any amount
- Payouts will vary based on the total number of bets taken for each specific category.
- The payout pool for each category will be constantly updated in realtime via announcements prior to each category's start.
- The payout percentages are 60%/25%/10% for first, second, and third place finishes, respectively
I hope to see many new and familiar faces there!
