Thread: Sad, kiting AGAIN, still waiting for a fix...

this is just a little rant about my personnal expierience today, got kited and killed by an NPC, got kited and killed by a Monster, got kited and killed by another player... I just got a nice kite beat down, I mean, I ran behind trees and rocks, trying to avoid the kiting, but there was no point, I just kept getting kited, more today than any other time...
I just am sick of the fact that this problem is still here...
When are they going to fix it?
Oh, and when are they going to fix the fact that with a Carbine I can kill all but the toughest red con mods by kiting, while as a Teras Kasi, I struggle againest yellow con?
This is just my depressed day, I'll be happy and peppy and love the game again later...
lunge1 has a 20 meter range now, both with and without VK's.
flame and LLC specials have a 16 meter range.
it's not graceful, but you can spam lunge and win fights, PvE or PvP.
how long will THIS last? I'm afraid of the answer.
Getting kited by an NPC? Cover works nicely for me. Naturally, if they can shoot through it it is not cover anyway...
Burst running away from the NPC also helped me often.
Its nice to see things finally brought back to the point they were at in Beta.
I very rarely get kited anymore, its simply a matter of using your skills wisely.
Lunge is an incredible tool and should be on every TKA's hotbar

kiting is where ppl(or mobs) run away from you shooting while you run towards them trying to attack them(and failing). My question is, why would anyone pvp against a TKA master and not run away while shooting? Soon as a TKA master gets within 5m it's spam KD and you are dead.

What yellow cons are you fighting? I fight yellows and reds almost exclusively and I really am not having a hard time....but then again...I choose my battles carefully (which should be a Teras Kasi's mantra at this point). You won't see me swinging my fists at a medium armored 80% kenetic resist mob.....just doenst work. I have taken down red con mobs that have medium armor with high kenetic resistance...but the bang for the buck just isnt worth it. You will, however, see me fighing red con AP0 and AP1's regularly. Try picking some different things to hunt.
As for kiting....all you can do is try to hide behind buildings or trees or harvestors and wait. I know you said you tried....and yah...it doesnt always work...so your other option...if you are going to chase a kiter is to burst run and lunge at them. I get kited all the time by imperial NPCs and that is when (because of my template) I whip out a pistol and fire off a lowblow :-). If kiting is a huge problem for you then maybe you need to change your template a bit to include a ranged profession.
