Thread: How to end Kiting.

Ok currently I feel that anyone that is aware of unarmed lunge 1 or 2 can easily avoid being kited. However that is not the case. Why? "You fail to knockdown target" etc etc etc...

What I propose, If an enemy turns their back to you, why don't we get some insane bonus to beating them down? Honestly even from a balance standpoint you can not say your defense is just as good running away with your back to an enemy as it is standing facing them.

Example: Master Rifleman v TKM/Master Brawler

Master Rifleman runs away wearing obese armor and just taking shots whenever while we run behind him "failing to knockdown target". With this bonus running away would be almost certain death. He turns his back.. I should be able to take him down almost immediately, tripping him and my attacks should do more damage.

You can't honestly take a hit from behind as well as facing forward. Especially while running, aiming and looking backwards. Most people would fall on their own accord w/o help.

Warcry, burstrun, lungeandand a little strategy all end kiting pretty fast for me. When COB gets straightened out we'll have another useful tool too.

If the disadvantage of TKA being kited is fixed, what will be its weak point?

Yes the target is out of range thing is crap, but the Devs gave us an increase of 5m, making our lunge attacks work at 20m.

Yes we suck in the open, but we rule in the city.

Riflemen rocks in the open, but suck close range.

Every prof has to have a disadvantage, if kiting is made harder on TKA's, who wouldn't want to be a TKA?

Don't you already see a huge increase of TKA all over every server? No offense but I think its people like you that are making the professions unbalanced. I first started TKA because it was unarmed, and it was rare. I wanted to be unique. Now its crap.

Kiting will never be fixed,it's simply in the games nature.

Sure they can do stuff for us melee, but fix/ending kiting is a never.<3

I'm saying if there is a penatly to them and a bonus to us attacking (or anyone) while they run away that should cause kiting to drop. Would you turn your back on an opponent? No, because it's stupid. There should be a huge defensive penalty to being attacked from behind while running.

I don't know if I'm trippin' but what I've noticed about this "Range" modification to "help" when "flying kites" is that when I use a VK my range (special and normal) is still a meer 3m. When I do NOT use the VK however I've hit enemies from as far as 7m away.

Another anomly I've encountered is that when I'm running I can hit the enemy, but only if he is not running. If the PC/NPC is moving at all I cannot hit him at all and I ALWAYS get the Out of Range message. I'm not a fan of Unarmed Lunge but I'm test it out some more. But I figure if I have a seven meter range, I'm burst running and I physically run past the target I'm attacking I should be able to hit it, no? This isn't the case. My only chance against a kite right now is running him into a wall. And this makes beating on those storm troopers that guard my target out in the openimpossible.

In PvE testing I have verified a range of 20 metres for lunge 1 and 10 metres for any other special, both with VKs.

Get yourself an 80-81% effective composite helmet paired with muon gold and listen to your local BH's cry. Heck throw in the same resist chest piece and you can count out torso shot as well.

Sorry to agree with others, but you have to admit, if we do kd someone and they get dizzy, its all over. If we are given even more advantages, well they may be nerfed later. Our ranged sucks, but when in range, good bye
