I just got to the village because I did a bit of holo grinding in the past. I had a few unlocks, did a few quests, and had a lot of fun doing them. Aside from that though I love tkm. It's been a profession I've had since the first week of launch. I took along with other skills force melee speed and found something out. WE HIT THE CAP WITHOUT A SPEED BOOST! Of course this was proven wrong because when I picked up the extra speed I was hitting faster then I could spam the specials. however this little trick is, I can safely say that it's helped a bundle in pvp and pve. In pvp I've been able to down jedi knights faster then before, etc. Just letting everyone know it's not a useless skill to pick up.

Sorry, but you're not hitting faster, it's all in your head. We're capped at the 1 second speed by the time we reach Power tech 3. It's just that simple. You can't hit faster than once every second, the system won't allow it.

I was reading somewhere on these forums that they FS speed mods do not work like the regular speed mods. Supposedly it acts more like a percentage boost on top of your regular speed. Don't know if it works past the speed cap, but you never know until you get a dev comment.
AFAIK, this is also why most ranged fighters think that it's broken, because it's only a % boost instead of adding to it. (See rifleman forum about how they all think it's broken because it's not speed capping them)
Fact of the matter is, I don't think anybody knows for sure right now. Until now everybody has gone for Jedi instead of just FS + normal skills.

Actually, if you read the Jedi forum and the people posting who were testing them, apparently melee and ranged speed don't do anything. They appear to be totally broken unless they work in some non-obvious way that the developers haven't explained yet.

There was at one point in time when TKs were able to hit faster than once a second. Something about having really low speed VKs with a great speed slice, then top it off with speed mods and people were actually "bugging" the system (I guess) and were hitting twice a second. I think the devs did something to fix that, but I'm unsure how encompassing it was or even if they decided that with these new FS mods they would allow TKs to go above and beyond in order to give them at least some use from it.
As someone else had said though, the only way we'll know for sure is if a Dev comments on it.

All I can say is check out all of the different profession forums... they all say something different. The jedi might claim it does nothing, but the swordsmen sure don't believe that.

ok going from what you say this means it working fine , ok then how come the commando forum is say that it is broken and not working when TH said the speed and acc mod you get are soposed to work with commando weapons , but they are not , even are corrospondend is saying they are broken and are looking into it

I'm not saying it's working fine, I'm just saying that I haven't seen any hard evidence either way. No offense, but I'm not believing a corespondant until I see a dev post that reinforces it.

At the moment the assumption is that all FS mods are working properly. However it does appear that the Ranged Mods are not working, but that the Melee Mods seem to work with Ranged Weapons. Unfortunately, because we cap on Speed and because Accuracy isn't really an issue (at Master) then it is rather tough for us to test if the Mods are working with TK.
