Thread: Novice TKA...Balance or Power?

I've read past posts debating whether to take the Balance or Power tree after Novice. Now that Knockdown is changed, what is the best strategy? Should I still go for Balance 1 or is Power 1 a better choice?

Thanks,

It depends on you. If you solo a lot, go for Balance. Knockdown is a great help.

But if you usually group up, go for Power. More speed and damage = More XP.

I disagree very strongly. Go balance 1frst, regardless.

Reasons?

If you want to solo, balance 1 is the obvious choice. Knockdown is great and once you start getting higher up in any of the trees, you're going to need it to solo effectively unless you want to kill light blue mobs for exp over and over. You won't do as good of damage and there will be a fairly long delay after you use knockdown, but you'll be able to solo regardless.

If you want to group, balance 1 is the solution as well IMO. Most groups (if you're going to be hunting anything at least relatively hard) will want a TKA for knockdown. I think it's quite selfish to go power first instead of balance, as it takes away exp from other TKA's in the group from having to keep things knocked down, and it also makes their job that much harder especially on multiple pulls.

When I was leveling up on Endor it really sucked for the other TKA in my group who had balance 1, because he'd have to do all the knockdowns, thus getting less EXP, while I'd only be able to sit back and attack, taking more exp than him, while doing less work.

Depends on the kind of player you are I guess, but in my opinion it does ALOT more good to go balance first regardless of whether or not you want to solo or group. To do anything else is selfish imo. Of course, if you're just concerned with exp and want to leech all ya can from a group without contributing to crowd control and other things that we can do, go for power. =p

balance 1, then power 4, then balance 4, then meditate 4, then grind 200k useless unarmed, precision 4, master.
