I know Teras Kasi are already questioning the use of VK's, so Im not sure how you TKM's feel about armor

I got a full suit that I can wear, but the HAM costs are pretty bad... but it does allow for tanking better!

So have any TKM's here tried doing Vibroknucklers+Comp Armor+Special Moves

Is it viable, I think its nescessary in PVP when high level pistoleers-smugglers-BH- or commandos can take out any unarmored playersin 3-4 hits

I just need your guys' thoughts on armor, VK's, and specials in the same battle

My experience with armor is pretty minimal, as is my PvP experience. But here is what I know...

I sometimes use Adv. Ubese with mabari gloves. Its only 5 pieces and the HAM costs are extremely reasonable: about 160 for red and green and 66 for blue (more if I put the hat on). Doing specials unbuffed is perfectly viable for me, though I tend to go a little easier with them than when I am unarmored.

However, it is not very effective against ranged attacks, so probably not good enough for PvP.

I never used to use armor before..but then i got a set of kinetic 71% ubese..and all i have to say is that its a must for taking on high level mobs. If u dont have any armor u can forget tackling anything that does high damage to you without a ton of risk.

Question about armor:

If I'm only using pants, chest, helm, am I leaving vulnerabilites on my arms and feet? I've noticed that not all hits are absorbed by armor.

I can buff each of my H&A stats by over 1000, so armor and VK ham costs are not so much a big deal to me.

Honestly, I use my VK's, armor, and my specials.

I've got a set of 37% ADV Chitin (which is an oddity. I bought it for the looks but it seems to be blocking 80-90% of the attack dmg on me - I love it )

The reason I like the chitin is because I can put it all on and can actually regen my stats.

I do have a set of ADV Comp with 80% kinetic and 70+ Electricity, but the HAM enc is too great. And well, against creatures that chitin does better.

I usually only use my VK's when I need to take out something really fast and it doesn't matter to the HAM cost. I'm begining to take off the VK's and debuff the mob then equiping VK's and going berzerk. it seems to be working well

Fixed a bug in AI which resulted in NPCs sometimes deathblowing players just for fun. - So the NPC's where having fun and we weren't.

Yes. hits to your hands and feet will go through.

My bracers absorb damage all the time.

Well, I took a different approach to armor which seems to work well. I've tried a full set of adv kinitic ubese, but (my first problem)...I'm a bothan...not the hardiest creatures in swg for a tank, so without buffs (which I've only used a couple of times...was nice but not worth the 5k to me) I certainly noticed a difference, but didn't complement my play style. I like to blow ham..it's a fact. I like to take the mob down as quickly as possible. The full sliced ubese just didn't do it so I tried something different...

Ok I spent more money then I would like to admit, way more than a full set of advanced kinetic ubese or even adv kinetic composite (I have both), but I have a full set of bio clothes that looks like the following on each piece (hat, pants, undershirt, jacket/duster/robe, boots, gloves, and an mk3). Note all have 4 sockets for additional looted mod tapes. (which I have yet to get any complimenting unarmed melee)

Most pieces:

4 melee defense
14 wound
14 injury
15 stun defense
(note: I think...I repeat, THINK... you would be able to get some substituting the wound injury with warcry/intimidate. I'm not BE so don't know for sure about that. But I have medic skills as well, so I use the med mods. But as stated below I have clothes with warcy/intimidate mods as well.)

And few other pieces:

4 melee defense
17 stun Defense

15 intimidate
15 warcry

The +4's melee on all the pieces actually does more than you may think. I don't see a drastic difference between the damage I take using the bio clothes and the sliced armor in my experience. I prefer the extra ham regen because that's my playstyle rather than auto attack with an occasional special and armor, and don't want to pay the extra 5-6k for doc buffs.

If you want to do specials unbuffed, try mabari. You can still get a 55% decrease in kinetic damage with HAM costs less than 150/200/150 for a full suit. It's not advanced ubese, but it is relatively effective and you can afford to use your favorite specials (just not every swing).

Which HAM costs would be greater?

Composite w/no VK

Armorless w/ VK

from my experience with ubese, it appears that VK's have a much higher effect on ham costs than armor does.

Ok now see my other post on VK speed

I dont mind losing a little damage per attack if it means overall longer survivability, but if VK's still enhance damage and speed at master the same way they do at novice, im sticking with my VK's

(Attacking without VK's is SLOOOW atm, im 0/1/1/1)

Armor is incredible. In a set of 67 percent ubese I get hit in the single digit range. It's really kind of amusing. And at that rate of damage, it doesn't make much sense for me to spam specials. I'll just tank it out and end up at nearly full health, action and mind.

That's the trick. Knowing when to spam the hell out of specials and when to just kick back and let the fight end with the invevitable. One Teras Kasi standing and yet another defeated opponent.
