Thread: TKM and PvP

'Lo, folks.
Im currently a TKM/Master smuggler, and have recently started pvp'ing. My question is in regards to which melee profession is the best for PvP. Some say fencers, others tell me swordsman or pikeman or whatever, and i constantly receive varied responses. I am thinking of mastering the profession which deals the all-around best PvP dmg, and dabbling in other professions for defense. The only profession i would be unwilling todrop is smuggler. If you folks have had some good experiences with TK as your primary combat prof, then ill dabble in a bit of fencer and perhaps 0/0/4/0 pistoleer for defense.
What would be your opinions?

TKA is one of the best PvP professions.
Some people dont even wear armor, i know i wont once im Master.

Teras kasi blows for pvp for the untrained people in pvp cuz of kenetic arrmor... for one spaming kd dizzy then unarmed hit three is not being uber =p
to make teras kasi good in pvp you need to learn all of the skills and what to use.. like unarmed stun is veryhelp ful it and so does all the toehr skills i even use leg hit sometimes.. yess you can pvp with no arrmor but then u got to worry abour riflemen shooting u long rankged for 500+ mind damage =O atlest on my server were peole were 80-90% kenetic allthe time. so your best way to be good is learn to keep them kded intimidate dizzy blind and stun keep thosue statusee all the time on them.. dont forget to use lunge and rember dont use lunge or kd if there arledy kded

Swordsman is the best when it comes to damage. You have an AP2 power hammer that does blast damage directly to mind, that is nasty. If you can get your speed high enough to cap it (around 95 will do it) you'll probably be about as deadly as anything out there.
But your defenses will suck. For defense, a master fencer with pistoleer that has dodge capped and some other good defenses is as good as it gets. Your damage output will kinda suck though, the best PvP fencer weapon (a stun baton) has no AP and almost never goes over 300 damage max, and you can't target mind with it.
Pikeman... Poor pikemen, other than those with super cool nightsister lances, pikemen just don't really do well in PvP. They do have AP2 weapons but can't target mind, their best specials only do 3x damage, and their defenses aren't that great.
TKAs are a good balance. Nice defenses (though defense acuity sucks compared to real dodge/block/counter), excellent toughness, best speed (guaranteed speed cap at master) and best accuracy, a large number of states we can land, and we do decent damage (the fairly low damage VK is supplemented with a natural damage bonus). We can also target mind, though not as well as a swordsman, and while we don't get AP2 we do at least get AP1. Our only real problem is that we only do kinetic damage, and sadly that's a pretty big problem since you'll run into many people with high kinetic resistance armor.
I find that my best role in PvP is as a person putting states on people (especially dizzy and intimidate, but stun and blind when I can), and pairing up with someone else to decimate a person's mind. I love teaming with a swordsman, and what will usually happen is I dizzy+kd the target, then the swordsman and I both pummel his mind as he lies there.
