Thread: Quick Question Looking for input from TKA's

I'm currently working on a crafting (Master BE template) with some Ranger for tracking. For the combat side, I want to go TKA. With the full Master BE and the Ranger 0/0/3/0 for tracking I can get 2 full lines of TKA. Which 2 do you all suggest?


4/0/0/4 for meditate and defence?

4/4/0/0 for meditate and special attacks?

0/0/4/4 for speed, damage, and accuracy/defences?


or some other combination?

I hate to say it but I'd take a ranged profession instead. If you take something like rifleman or pistoleer you can do two lines and still do pretty well with a gun. As a ranger you will be able to run well on hills, making you excellent at kiting, and you can also even crawl quicker than normal. And you can skimp a little on defenses as a ranged profession because you can attack at a distance, where a melee fighter is always up close and vulnerable to attack. Let's not forget that you have a to-hit bonus against creatures that only applies to ranged attacks, you should take advantage of it.

Thanks for that bit of info...I was not aware that the 'Creature to hit bonus' only applied to ranged attacks; probably one of those things that I read 1000 times but didn't actually 'read' it...I will definately keep that in mind as well.

I'd avoid rifles unless you are planning to master. I just got master a couple weeks ago, and it is not a dabble-friendly profession. At master, rifleman rocks, and hard. But the speed difference from 4,4,4,4 to master is unreal. If you do dabble, though, here are two options. x,1,x,x will get you Conceal Shot, which can take forever, but is great with mask scent and/or camo at 64m. Also, if you go up Rifle's Countersniping tree, x,x,3,x will get you the DX rifle <acid dmg> and Flushing Shot 2, which is a great area effect shot. With a tank, this shot is awesome. Without, get ready for melee with many irritated targets.


I'm going TKA now, and really wish I had done this the other way around. With rifles first, sans melee, I died more times than Kenny on South Park.
