OK, I'm not the sharpest tool in the box but I mastered TK awhile ago and I'm still learning and still have questions.
For example, I finally realised that my role as tank is not for the most part about taking the enemy down but keeping him preoccupied. Given high level content's generally high HAM and prohibitive costs for hitting the mind pool with TKM I'm just going to have to accept taking down nasties is not what I'm good at - let the rifleman have his day.
I also have finally sussed how to blend my doc skills whilst being TKM. It took a macro to make it work (stand, healing states in a loop and a fire at will macro for curing DoTs/damage).
I've also sussed my favourite opening moves (Blind, Stund, Dizzy, KD) and when to apply a particular hit on a particular enemy.
I've also discovered the joys of looped macros to warcry/intimidate and CoB continuously.
Yet I'm still rubbish in PvP with any serious opponents and there's somethings which I can't even dent (100% or near kinetic resists). The latter I'll just have to accept until we are blessed with something equivallent to a power hammer.
The former (being crappy at PvP) I can't stand no longer. So any advice fellow masters? I'm wookiee and generally have some solid hunting armour on, self-buffed for a decent amount, canape + brandy (w/ synthsteaks if belly has room) and doing the scare/healstate/CoB macros.
Yet my tactics for PvE just don't work in PvP: Follow, opening moves, unarmed3 if mind looks good otherwise just leave to hit normally, repeat.
I'm usually equipped with a VK with damage power ups - and I know what you're thinking the HAM costs on my specials must be pretty high but I can't tell if thats the problem and if so, by cooling off on specials I'm doing the right thing (or should I take the VK off?) The VKs are pretty fast (current one is 1.5 with dmg170 without powerups, spare is 1.7 with damage 150)
Any advice would be appreciated. Also what do you consider essential equipment I may be missing?

first off get yourself a better vk, once your a tkm you already have speed caped, so no point in a 1.5 or 1.7 speed vk, get a 2.2 speed damage sliced.. should look for at least 190 max dmg vk, i have a 202 and am looking for better. as for your macros.... although i have been a master doc in the past, i never once bought heal state packs so im not quite sure how they work, but in my experience the only macro you need is for CoB. now..... how you order your attacks is one thing that everyone seems to do differently, and some things work for some people.. my wookie on sunrunner ALWAYS did warcry first (with the wookie bonus to warcry) then i laid intimidate, once that stuck i did uaStun (to lower def) then i hit kd2 then started hitting mind or hit3. the biggest deal you have to realize is that in my experience unarmedHit3 becomes ineffective once hit3 has laid blind. I'll run some tests for everyone in a different forum once i can get back on SWG. but combo1 seems to do the job alot better. Again, since i haven't seen a post, ill run some tests on combo1, combo2, and hit3, but in my experience thus far combo1 is more effective than hit3 after the blind has been laid. Hope that helps.

Thanks! Damn, all this time thinking a faster VK was best... will switch to my higher damage VKs (got one that does 202 speed 2.2)
I'd love to see you analysis of which of the various hits are best.

I don't know if I mis read it or something, but looks like you need some Doc buffs in there besides self buffs.

Sorry by self buffs I meant "I am doc, going to buff myself" not powerboosts
Although they're useful too for a little bit more...

oh yea, 2 more things... 1. you have to learn and realize that as a teras kasi, our biggest strength is our ability to lay so many different states on our enemy, take advantage of this.. keep your enemy blinded / stunned / dizzied / intimidated .
secondly.. you should always have a muon gold and a nuetron pixie, and / or vercutian (i forget what its called, but the +1000 health/action/mind) food hotkey'd, use them as a healer if one of your stats gets low.

moun then pb.. stacks..
so 1k mind + moun (800?) = 1800 /2 = 900 = 2700 instead of
1500 normal and 2300 with moun afterwards.. just a reminder

doesn't stack. pb only takes half of your PERMANENT mind and uses that. you can't have 1000 mind, put a muon on and expect powerboost to boost for half of 1500, it only does the half of 1000.

I get to atleast 3k mind with just dancer buffs and brandy
The Focus was up at 3.5k last time (dancer/music/brandy/capage)

Some tips
As mentioned already, you want a high damage VK once you are TKM.
Always open with Intimidate. It really is important you nail that once, especially vs a fencer.
Stun is up next. Stun is your best friend as it will lower their defenses which is very important in PvP.
Now that you got those out of the way(and be sure to keep them stunned and intimidated at all times):
Dizzy is always good to sneak in from time to time. Don't bother with knockdown more than once in PvP as most players seeing you as a tkm will down some anti-kd food. It doesn't hurt to try it once though. Sometimes you get lucky.
But, if you have them dizzy and they try to run, hit them with UA lunge 1. That will posture change them(less protected against especially if you got that stun earlier) and likely get them KD'd if you got that dizzy on them earlier.
Beyond that? UA3 is good until you get a blind nailed. After that stick to the UA combos or mind hit depending on where the player looks weakest.
As others have said, states are of the biggest importance to TKMs because with our kinetic damage limitations we need all the advantages we can get.
Stun and intimidate are always top priorities with dizzy and blind being snuck in when you can.
