Other then the best reason/second char on same server
WHY I love TKM/MD I think it is the best prof combo in the game, and I am not a new TKM I was a TKM before the badges came out
so i did not jump on it when everyone thought it was cool, even during the holo grind i quit because i would not give up tkm, now I have all 6 branchs done and I could go jedi tonight if i wanted to but i ask myself why other then the second char or maybee the lightsabor but that will get old real fast. I can pvp just fine unbuffed with no armor I can solo allmost anything if not everything, And on the verge of JTL should I really get into something and then stop grinding it so I can fly and build that up. I don't know and please do not flame my post I am looking for the "OLD SCHOOL" TKM's to help me and tell me what they did or what they are going to do. I am now a TKM/MD with fs bonus, I have never been so happy but then Jedi, Iduno please let me know what you guys did,
Thanks

Im not Jedi, but I would do the following:
Do FS quests to unlock second slot, do trials on the second slot, make him Jedi, keep your main TKM/Doc.

I agree. Just because you unlock your jedi slot and create a new char doesn't mean you have to quit playing your main. It would be worthwhile to do it just to have 2 chars on the same server, IMO. Do what you like, of course, but what's the disadvantage of doing this? You take some time off your TKM? Not so bad, if you ask me.

Well here's my opinion. I am Master TK, Master Brawler and currently putting my other skill points into swords, fencer and pikes. I have a combat template that I am working toward for what I think will be great for PvE. I am one badge away from being glowy. As of now, I'm not interested in becoming a Jedi. I enjoy the game for the melee profession combat. I don't want to head to the village and grind like a mindless fool. I would rather group with my friends and kill a Krayt or run the corvette, just as we have been doing up until publish 10. I have a second account who is Master Doctor and working toward Master Musician. So I'm really not interested in a second charater on the same server, as I have already done that. Either I don't want to join the Jedi farm, or I really just love TKM. I don't know. But right now, I will keep my charater non-FS and keep enjoying the game. My suggestion to the Devs would be to create a Galaxy that is non-FS for players who are not interested in grinding Jedi.

some people make it sound like after you start grinding FS skills....you have to live at the village?!?!?!?
TKM/MD and here is what I do.
I only go to the village once every 2 days....just to convert xp then leave again...I'd much rather do janta's 30k exp for 2 mins of work.
I sit in cnet or theed and buff ppl for around an hour...that maxes my med exp. Then I go run Jantas...after a day or so my unarmed is maxed then I go to the village.
There is life outside the village heh

i have a jedi, enough of the dont knows talking about what they know not. go for jedi, get your permanent melee speed, accuracy enhancements, you like doc, good , get the permanent doc enhancements, dont go padawan, it will ruin your character. force enhanced tkm doc, cool, stop at jedi initiate, enjoy the game better than before, cross to padawan, regret it forever. just the truth.

I was this exact same template which I also loved. Great in PVP, can self buff and is great tank against most things. I'm now TKM, Master Medic, Jedi Padawan. I've been forced to give up doc to pursue my Jedi lifestyle. Now I am planning on grinding up my new alt so I have a regular PVP character..it's just that I've been having fun playing Jedi!
I say go for it. How long would it really take to grind up your new character back to this template?? What?? 2 weeks at most??
