Thread: An idea for combat revamp

I am just being created today, left a post on tailor board and got no reply
Anyway, I think that TKA is the most balance profession out of the game, of course there always room for better stuffs. Ok, since we only have one type of damage, and no DOT damage weapon. Well, from what i see in this community is that once we master this profession, we move on another prof to compliment it, or drop all but the meditate line and take something else more powerful like sword or rifleman (more powerfull doesn't mean better, this had been proved over and over again in PvP.)
What i am proposing for the combat rebalance is that after master TKA, there should be another line or two, kinda like the uber of TKA, one would be something like Poisonous Palm (too much chinese movie,) Whoever take on this tree can have cert for a VK that do poison dot, the higher in the tree, the more poison attack or duration. Line number two would be something like cybernetic arm where you are cert for a VK that do stun and have AP2 (he who master the force from withing, and can use it in paralel w/ machine will be god?)
Well, just a feel thought, let's the flame begin y'all

First if we did it for one prof we would have to do it for all and since it seems they have everything pretty much figured out, so they think, it would not be practicle att all. As for AP2 stun.......cmon lets be realistic. Instead of everyone screaming give our prof an uber stun weapon so we will pwn all in PvP why dont we just fix armor. Does anyone else remember back in the day when acid was the low resist and everyone was running around with the BH pistols line using nothing but eye shot? Not the case anymore.

But what i am talking about that is what if (A BIG WHAT IF)each profession can have aline or two specialize in certain thing after you get the master level? For example: 2h sword, after the master title, there will be two different line, 1 for power hammer, more move and stuffs, 1 or sword and scythe, for pike after master title 2 line, one for lance one for LVA, for rifle, 2 lines, 1 is for sniper, and 1 is for gunman, commando, 1 for more of flamethrower, 1 for rocket launcher. I think that would be really cool, if that happen in reality, imagine we don't have to dabble into others proffs, even w/ the same profession, each will be somewhat different from the other. Just a nooby dream

In my opinion, that = TK being overpowered. Now it isn't overpowerd in my mind.
Given the pace at which major updates are done, you're looking at a year before it would be put in game.
Even then, it would suck. Why? This game is based upon the principle that most gamers don't have 16 hours a day to grind out their professions, so the developers made it fairly easy to master a profession. They then added features and content to the game that don't revolve around gaining skills for your character. The exception being Jedi of course, but only so that Jedi remain somewhat uncommon.
One of two things would result in adding an extra "grandmaster" level to professions... Either the game would change into an EQ-style game where you need to spend countless hours to build your skills, or it would stay the same and the extra ranks end up just being a bit more to grind for each profession, not really changing a thing and adding nothing to the game.
People will figure out the most effective extra skill and 90% of the player population will do that.
