Thread: New TKA Master on Kettemoor how I did it in under a week (a realistic approach)

Now I realise that people claim to do this in a day (or two or three) but I am a casual player with a day Job that sucks up most of my time.

Please note I did this without buffs or pets, I did have armor but it was junk at I bought off the bazzar. I had a pair of Vibro Knuckles - never bothered to slice them

And I hunted only on Tattoine, Dantooine and Dathismore (spelling)

Ok this is presuming you are at nov TKA - if not go kill everything you see until you are (nov TKA is a grid and there are numerous posts about getting there)

Once I hit nov, (on Tat) - I killed Greater Womp Rats until I got enough for Balance 1 (for the Knock Down)

Then I took two days running missions on Dantooine running Quenker missions (spelling is probably wrong - dont worry it is the only animal on the planet that starts with a "Q") The little critters have a 10% kinetic resist, but once you Knock Down / War Cry them you can get their HAM in 1/2 in under 3 seconds.

I did these missions till I got to power 4 (tka 0/1/4/2 at this point)

Took a little over 2 days to get to this point

Once I got power 4 I was kind of discouraged with the pace, then I read a thread on here (or was it in the Jedi forum) about the "Rancor Room" as it is called on Dathismore.

Was bored, and decided to check it out

Fly from Tattooine, to Cornet, to Dathismore (Northern Outpost) - go North about 1000m and you will see the night sister camp. There are a series of rocks comming out of the ground leading west. Follow then till you come to a circular building (about 200 to 400 meters west)

Once in the building - there are typically a group of players in there already fighting the rancors - group up and start pounding the beasts for about 4k each and they respawn litterally as soon as they hit the ground.

If there are not any other players in there....

This is a tough fight - but very enlightening as I had to do this a few times solo when no one else was in the "Rancor Room".

Have at least nov Medic - buy some good stims off the bazzar. ( and I mean a ton of them)

Enter the building - burst run past the two Dragons (nps female guards) - and run past the rancors (most of the time there are two of them that aggro as you enter the room).

Run into the next room - if your timing is right, one of the rancors will get stuck against the wall of the other room leaving you only one rancor breathing on your face.

Killing a rancor solo at TKA 0/1/4/2....

KD / War Cry

Intimidate / Blind / Stun / Dizzy / UAHit2 until it stands back up (dizzy seems to slow them down a little bit)

* make 100% sure that Intimidatesticks - or you have a hard fight ahead *

Pop a stim cause it hits hard coming back up off the ground

Pound it with UAHit2 until your 30 Seconds KD timer wears out - then KD again and one or two hits should kill the critter.

XP = 5000 (can you say HELL YES)

Heal up and get the other rancor unstuck by moving tward the door (slowly) - please note by this time the rancor you already killed has respawned

Repeat this process over and over again - you can hit master TKA in about 12 hours game play from TKA 0/1/4/2

Also - if you are not good at pulling the beasts one at a time...hope you have good armor or buffs or both - I always found myself spawning in the cloning facility of the northern outpost

And final note...

I already know people are going to flam eme for posting this - some might say "Well grinding that way you have no idea how to use your skills - you will get killed by a Jawa"

I totaly disagree

Rancors are very hard to beat -

After two and a half days of fighting them, I am knowlegable about what works in a given situation - how many of you Masters soloed rancors - not many I expect as most of the posts on getting to master are "kill 1 million pickets".

Now I agree pickets are difficult at lower levels- but rancors are a humbling experience

Asa side note...

Ilearned to have great respect for this profession when as master rifleman with full suit of composit and doc buffs walked in and got eaten alive by one of the rancors

Well, personally I think this is a great post. So you areen't going to get any flaming from me...

And I have just one question to get something clear.

You said youhave a "pair" of VK's. Does this mean you can equip two at the same time? (one for each hand?) And another thing (ok 2 questions), do the mods stack if you do? I am currently working up the unarmed tree ( Unarmed 4, TK fundamentals). What and where did you finish up this part of the profession? (I guess that makes it 3 questions)

read the patch notes for today January 8th, and the rancors in that room are no longer attackable.

theres no way u did it in 3 hours, at tkm the fastest i can get 4.7 million xp (required amount to master tkm from novice) is to go to the geo caves and that takes me 4 hours minus the time to and from village.

I don't believe it is... First you have to considered the brawler portion... that does not come quickly on its own then you need novice TK which is a fun little grind as well. Another thing experienced players tend to forget is they go into a new class often with max combat experience. Means once they hit Novice they automatically become 0/0/0/3. Makes a massive difference. So from a vet's perspective, starting at novice , then yes 6 hours could be done with ideal circumstances (doc / trainer on hand). Otherwise add another 3 to 5 hours minimum plus travel. my 2 cents.
