I've played a ranged character my entire time with SWG.
Now that I created and made Novice TKA with a new character, I am wondering up which skill tree should I first concentrate my efforts on. Also, at what point does meditate become effective? I apologize in advance if this is an all too often asked question on this forum. Thank you in advance.

Move up the Power line first...it will speed you up and increase the damage you do.
As for meditate, at the second box you get powerboost. A very awesome skill. You meditate, then powerboost and in about 20 seconds or so, your primary stats will go up by about half your normal Mind. so you have a Mind with 1100..look for an increase of 550 to Health, Action and Mind. At the forth box you can then start to heal your wounds.

You want to maximize your damage and speed first.
Can't remember the name of the tree but you wanna go to at least 0 04 0. Once you get that, the xp will fly.
If you have been ranged for most of your SWG career then you will find melee to be a lot different.
Don't ignore your Novice Brawler skills and unarmed skills like Intimidate, Stun, Blind, Warcry, etc.
Good luck.

Power (for speed and damage), Meditation, and last Balance (raises defense and lowers Unarmed XP gained).
Precision whenever you have the XP for it.
